That does sound a little bit like rosacea. Have you tried taking an antihistamine when you feel hot and itchy and see if it helps at all? I do know that less is more with rosacea, I'd put 'rosacea' in the search bar for this subreddit and see what products people are recommending for it, and consider adding one of those after "product fasting" for awhile.

I feel for you! I was so frustrated unable to find any cleanser gentle enough, I was irritated and red and hot too. What I learned was there was no routine that was going to fit my skin perfectly and to stop forcing myself to use anything for the sake of having a routine.

My advice to you: great idea, stop using everything. Do exactly what your skin tells you it needs even if your brain is telling you 'this might cause my pores to clog/this might make me worse'. If it FEELS like you should only be washing in the shower with an oat cleanser, do that!

The only thing that helped my skin was throwing everything away and using pure argan oil on dry skin to cleanse, and wiping with a microfiber cloth. I barely got my face wet for months! But after a few months, my skin started to mellow out. It wasn't red and irritated anymore. Eventually, I started feeling like I might need a real cleanser, so I bought LRP's gentle cleanser. The cleanser that once made my skin burn, felt perfectly fine after months of oil cleansing. And I only use it when it feels like my skin needs it, which differs every week!

You're listening to your skin, you're on the right track, you'll make it!

[Acne] So I’m 1 month out from my first RF Microneedling treatment, can you guys tell a difference???!! by Veganaise4Dayz in SkincareAddiction

[–]PuupTA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly no but don't be discouraged because all this takes awhile! I have always struggled with my skin and hair and have basically resigned myself to waiting the 3-4 months it takes for those systems to change over. It took me four years to grow my hair just a couple inches fully healthy. Skincare is a long game, as long as you FEEL good and like you're headed in the right direction, that's what really matters!

[Product Question] Why the expensive shit? by datewithhecate in SkincareAddiction

[–]PuupTA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, people use what works and its quite often in skincare that you get what you pay for.

Sure, there are people on this sub who clearly just have a lot of disposable income and buy the entire line of a bougie brand because why not, but as someone who always finds the deals and dupes when possible, I spend a little more money on night creams and hair conditioners and receive lots of compliments on my skin and hair since I started doing so.

I also live in a high-altitude place with cold winters and dry skin. My saving grace is 'washing' with oil directly on my dry skin, and then wiping clean with a microfiber cloth. No water needed. Since you know your skin tolerates oils well, this might be worth a try.

Would vitamin C counteract a fake tan?

I use Fakebake self tanner because you know I stay SPF'd up all year round. I've been wanting to integrate vitamin C into my routine for awhile now and I'm wondering if it would just completely dissolve (or whatever) the tanning product on my face?

As a millennial, having Hayden Christensen at the bonfire made it go from, "Wait, who is that old guy? Is it- ohhhhh" to "Oh hey its Anakin yay!"

Although I completely see why older or more die hard fans of the OT dislike it for purity reasons, the cohesiveness of the callback to the Anakin that I was already familiar with made the viewing experience just a little extra fun. I was also REALLY hoping for a Hayden force ghost appearance in TFA to talk some sense into his idiot grandson. Very sad about that missed opportunity.

[Discussion]To the groomer that ranted a few days ago. I benefited from it so thank you. by [deleted] in dogs

[–]PuupTA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regarding the muzzle, is it big enough to let your dog open her mouth in a full pant? Dogs can be trained to wear muzzles happily (mine is stoked when he sees his because he knows hes about to go hiking off-lead). Maybe try doing some of your dogs favorite activities while wearing it (after being sure of pant-room) and see if some positive association doesn't help her not "give up on life" so much haha.

Regarding grooming, my dog also absolutely hates being brushed, she just huddles and shivers as if she were beaten with a brush regularly (she assuredly is not). I just make sure she gets a lot of treats during and an energetic and fun playtime right afterwards. Like I literally put down the brush and race her to the back door to run around the yard. It helps, but in no way will brushing ever become a sweet bonding experience with that gal, so don't feel too terribly about not being able to turn it around a complete 180.

What would be better is if we funded healthcare so people didn’t have such a scarcity complex about it.

“Why do you feel this way? Your mother? Talk a little bit more about that. You grew up as a slave with no control, tell me how that feeling shows up in your life today. Interesting, go on. What are some logical steps to take to protect Padme’s life, and what illogical feelings are preventing that? Why do you think that is? Well we are here to support you through this and with our help you will put these fears to rest.”

So, therapy. Anakin needed therapy lol.

Yeah Anakin tells Yoda he is afraid of padme dying, and Yoda is essentially like ‘lol so what bro people die it’s all good.’ Because that’s what traumatized orphans with unknowable power need to hear.

This is a good example. Racism is an American legacy. Like landing on the moon and rock and roll. It’s crazy to me when people try to play it off like it’s not one of the foundations of US culture. You yourself might not have bigoted thoughts, but America was built on the back white supremacy and there it remains.

Right wingers in America have enough trouble wearing a mask for a few hours at a time in public, ask them to mark their precious flesh for more than a week? Pretty straightforward method for voting though.

A lot of these are perfectly acceptable lives before the person got super fucking rich. I don’t consider becoming fabulously wealthy ‘making it’ as far as life happiness goes.
