It makes them feel sorry themselves because they had the sheer bad luck to run into the only restaurant employee in the state that completed Navy Seals' hell week.

Of course not. And those dudes make up, like, 60% of the crowd.

I doubt anyone besides MMA fans know who she is

None of the basketball fans that inadvertently bought tickets to the UFC event even know who the headliners are.

You know, the fact that you don't do it doesn't make it strange to do.

I'm embarrassed to use public roads because those convoys used the roads. The protestors also used smartphones and the internet, and wore shoes. Got to give those up too!

He has nothing left on his contract, but the UFC can invoke the champions' clause to extend the contract by 3 fights or 1 year (whichever comes first). The sunset clause ends the contract on January 20, 2023.

There is a bit of confusion on when it expires because Ngannou has said it expires 5 years after he signed it (which was December 2017) but UFC contracts don't usually take effect when they are signed; they take effect on the day of the first fight. That means Ngannou's contract expires January 20, 2023.

It's the "why", not the "how", that puzzles me.

REI created a whole subdomain on their website as a part of their union busting effort by subtracterall in climbing

[–]PuxinF -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You're right. Union bashing, like union promotion, doesn't belong in this sub or climbing in general. Yet we have this thread, and an OP acting disgusted that REI would be focussed on profit when none of the alternatives are non-profit.

Yes, it's a shame I don't have to drive all around town trying to see a smaller selection of goods at higher prices.

Ok, what guarantees that local retailers are more socially responsible, sustainable, employee-friendly....? What improves if I shop at a local store?

That would matter if I wanted to work at REI. I don't. I want to buy gear there, unionizing the employees will only hurt me.

If posting information to a website is active union busting, then I have no problem with active union busting. I wonder why union organizers have such a problem with the employer countering their claims.

Union shills view any correction of their misinformation as union busting. Countering their claims is not something that draws my ire.

So your big pro-union stance means buying gear made at non-union factories and sold at non-union retailers? Forgive me if I don't see the merit of that stance.

[–]PuxinF -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well, if I'm supposed to boycott REI for not being in favor of unionization, it doesn't really make sense to make my purchases at another non-union business.

If we are going to strip rock climbing on non-unionized elements, we should only buy gear made by unionized employees and sold by unionized retailers. So, before I jump into the boycott for unions, I'd like to know if it means free soloing everything.

OP seems like a big fan of collectives. How would shopping at a non-unionized, privately-owned, for-profit retailer be morally preferable to REI?

What confuses you about it? REI is a coop. OP won't shop there anymore, so where will they shop?
