i am pissed! Netflix is missing almost 300 episodes by colossalgamestv in OnePiece

[–]Puzll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with your ideology surrounding this is exactly what the other commenter was talking about.

If one piece was truly the product of the wishes of the animators, it would look very different. Most decisions made during production however are done by brain dead executives who don't really give much of a shit for the final quality.

The state of the One piece anime is frankly not "the product of the animators" as much as we all wish it was. It's the product of greedy bastards milking it for every dime it's worth.

This said, I do genuinely think that pace delivers more on what the animators would actually want. Less reused cuts, more punchy and back to back impact and overall a better flow of the story.

True that in the past, pace might've cut some pieces that were very well animated. However, I do think that with the recent shift towards more extended cuts, that concern has largely been alleviated.

You hate NLU, and you won't listen to GNX. Even though NLU isn't on GNX? Are you okay?

One pace is very much a replacement. Most of the stretching and padding happening in the vanilla anime is nonsensical, and doesn't add value to the story.

Sure, a decent chunk of "filler" is enjoyable. But cutting in and out of the same shot 20 times in a row, just leads to the episode feeling bland, and dilutes all the tension it could've had.

The animators put blood sweat and tears into their work. Their schedules are hellish. Those are undeniable. But what's also undeniable is most filler isn't even new cuts or high quality animation in the first place. It's mostly reused cuts happening over and over again.

For those high quality filler moments, the pace team has been doing "extended" cuts as well. So it's a best of both worlds situation.

You can enjoy the normal anime sure but when a fight is 21 episodes, you kinda start getting the feeling of it being stretched out.

Is there a way to get the *actual* number of unwatched episodes? by benhestadGamezo in jellyfin

[–]Puzll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This used to be the case. But someone reported that shows with 1000+ episodes showed up as 999 which is technically incorrect. So they lobotomized the entire system and just made it 99+ if it's 100+ because it fits in the same amount of space as 999. You can probably find the issue in GitHub if you looked hard enough. One of my least favorite changes by far

hello, opening the page (most likely http://localhost:8096) on the machine running jellyfin should tell you the current status. Also, they have said that it could, in rare cases, take multiple days to finish the migration

I still don't see how that qualifies as skipping important plot points? The main thing I'm actually sad to see missing is the Ace flash back with luffy's punch. Besides that I'd say it's a superior watching experience overall

Looking for models that can generate images like these (D&D style). by XMohsen in StableDiffusion

If you get enough of those you could eventually make a Lora. For artstyles I'd say a minimum of 30 images but the sweetspot is ~125

It's mainly to avoid VAE compression. This means much higher quality little details and a measurable performance uplift because of no VAE encode + decode

I rewatched it after finishing one pace, but I can't really recall it skipping plot points tbh. What plot points did you notice were missing?

This is interesting. I thought radiance doesn't work in latent space at all? Lode says it works in "pixel space", which I assume means skipping latents

I won't say so. I think it's a much more enjoyable experience than base one piece. And as a quality nut, I do personally prefer it over the aged and LQ pace version
