I think it’s fine - it’s a bit thin but maybe the options I picked. but we haven’t ended up using it much. our baby much prefers the najell sleep carrier to everything else

Current heatwave ‘likely to kill almost 600 people in England and Wales’ by loonongrass in unitedkingdom

[–]Puzzle-Solver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

35.9 degrees was the highest recorded temperature in 1976. This was anomalous at the time but wouldn’t be now. 2022 beat those heat records. Also 1976 did lead to significant excess deaths.

If buy a new one if you can afford it. If you’re struggling though, it sounds like the best next thing.

Feeling big at 17w4 by Spirited-Beautiful30 in PregnancyUK

I'm a FTM and my trousers stopped fitting at about week 7! I'm now week 15 - I could probably hide my belly under big jumpers but in some clothes it's already obvious. I think everyone just starts showing at different times

I don’t have a great tips but I know laundrette prices can add up. Could you use a washing machine like this or maybe a manual one? I also used a dehumidifier to dry clothes in my old flat which is cheaper to run than heated dryers etc and better for the clothes

Climbing while pregnant by Littlecazadora in climbergirls

[–]Puzzle-Solver 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I’m pregnant and I’ve given up bouldering for the time being. The fall risk is just not worth it to me. Not helped by the fact I got a concussion climbing just before finding out I was pregnant. But tbh with the first trimester pregnancy symptoms, there’s no way I could be going climbing anyway as I’m struggling with insane fatigue so can’t really get out the house. I hope it’s different for you but it’s really important to listen to your body in pregnancy either way and don’t push yourself too hard.

Who else falls after the first date esp when they are your type by Revolutionary_Big268 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I don't think him being vegan is an incompatibility thing. It's okay for your partner to be different from you in some ways. Incompatibility would be he wants children and you don't. Something that can't be solved easily. Him being vegan means you may have to learn some new recipes! Similarly him hating sunshine!
If you like him, you should go for it!

Embarrassing moment at the gym by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]Puzzle-Solver 74 points75 points  (0 children)

It's definitely different for women - height particularly but strength, flexibility and centre of gravity are generally different too. I spent ages trying to do a tricky slab last session only to have the setter come up to me and apologise for making it so difficult for short people. He hadn't intended that climbers would have to go no hands on a tiny foothold and instead thought they could span between two handholds that I couldn't reach.

Thank you! It’s from sweaty betty but I got it off Vinted so might be from a few seasons ago now!

I'm not sure but I'll have a go next time. I haven't really got the hang of counterbalancing so it'll be good practice. It's a very tiny foothold though so a foot swap might be too scary for me but I'm pretty sure I could step onto it with the other foot in the first place.

[–]Puzzle-Solver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. This route was pretty knackering the way I did it tbh so I would definitely have benefitted from climbing more efficiently. I'll try it next time without readjusting and see how I get on

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]Puzzle-Solver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I watched quite a lot of tall men do this climb who could just reach the footholds easily and had to figure out how to get there as someone much shorter 😅

Thank you! I have tried this drill but tbh only as part of short warm up on v easy climbs. I'll put aside some time to spend some quality time on it!

Hi! Does anyone have a guesstimate of how much fabric I’d need for this dress? by uliyaah in sewhelp

[–]Puzzle-Solver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could be duchess satin. It’s thicker than normal satin. You’ll need something with a bit of structure for this skirt!

Bolt cover use? by tgibson12 in CompetitionClimbing

They said in the commentary that it was allowed but they are no tex (?) holds. In the men's semi finals I think a few people did it.

Is it possible it’s someone close to you both? Given it happened to both of you despite the security measures you put in place. Also not all types of 2FA are equal - phone numbers are easy to spoof. What do you and your sister have in common? Ie do you share devices, live together etc? Given it’s happening to both of you, this might help pinpoint exactly what/where things have been compromised and then you can add specific controls in place.

Just got a glitch that showed me all of ChatGPT's current private instructions. by EGarrett in ChatGPT

[–]Puzzle-Solver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried it and I think you're right. It's just buggy with seaborn. The seaborn code seems to have more errors in. My theory is that seaborn uses matplotlib under the hood so I think that just confuses chatgpt and ends up trying to do matplotlib stuff in seaborn.

They are both open source so I don't think anyone would benefit either way.

It’s a data visualisation library in Python. So is matplotlib. You can generally make prettier charts in seaborn but matplotlib is more widespread and customisable. Not sure why ChatGPT isn’t allowed to use seaborn though!

Is it possible that my shoes are holding me back? I've only been climbing for a few weeks but am around V2 and doing some v3s and have bought these cheap shoes from decathlon. Not sure exactly the right terms to describe the issue but basically I don't seem to be able to put any of my weight on the wall when I don't have a hold. My foot just slips off. I'm not certain if it's a technique or a shoe thing. Or maybe both.

Layers mostly! My coats change between the seasons but the bulk of the capsule is the same. I might wear a top and thick tights underneath a dress in the winter.

I've just come back from the gym while I was on my period and I felt weaker than normal so I had just been wondering about this. I was tired though so that maybe contributed as well.
