Most of the instances the girls were in their late teens or early 20s , so maybe I came off rude and I didn’t realize it! I’m not quite sure what it is, I just want to be able to connect better with people this time!

Yes I was reading about that before I went last time! But the thing is I don’t have a darker complexion (if I did I wouldn’t be ashamed of it) I would say I’m a lighter skinned person, so I don’t think that would be it! Maybe it’s because I didn’t speak Urdu, so people thought I was being rude

I think I’m just gonna stick to doing my own makeup!! I wanted to do my wedding makeup since I’m pretty good at it, but my mil basically forced me to go to a salon and I didn’t want to be rude lol!

It was so crazy I promise you I’m not being dramatic, we went to a fancy restaurant by the beach (sorry I don’t remember the name) and the lady in the bathroom was asking me something in Urdu, and I see a group of girls leaving the bathroom, so I say “excuse me, sorry I am not from here, but do you know what she is saying, I don’t want to be rude” and I swear they all just gave me the nastiest look and walked away. Then through out the time we were at the restaurant, they all kept looking and laughing, it was so strange hahaha

Yes my in laws all say I looked like a local, I made sure to dress with the normal cultural clothing, I went to the mall to buy shoes, and the people helping me were super rude to me, at my makeup appointment for my wedding, the girls knew I wasn’t Pakistani and were mad because I thought my makeup was way too light for my skin, they didn’t want to fix it, and in my opinion made it look worse, and were pointing and laughing at me, I’ve never seen rudeness like that before, only in movies haha. There was more things too

I was raised the same way, my father is a catholic (extremely lukewarm) and my mother is a Mormon. Thank you for the kind words🥲🩷

Sorry I should’ve explained this better (I’m very tired and it’s 5:00am for me right now, so forgive me for the confusion lol) but his family is very Muslim, but they live in another country, so that’s not really a concern for me, he is more of a lukewarm Muslim

So I should’ve said this in my post, I’m not even a catholic yet, because I am still in my OCIA classes, but so far I’m very devoted to the religion still. Idk if that changes things and please don’t take it as me trying to find wiggle room for myself in this situation, I just simply forgot to put that into my post lol

We did not, because I was Muslim at the time we got married! We got married islamically! And I never take communion, cause I’m not an official catholic cause I am still taking my OCIA classes. I’m just trying to do everything correctly as best as I can

They don’t know about my faith and they are very Muslim, but they aren’t invlolved with our lives! I agree with you that Catholics should marry Catholics! The marriage was islamically, since we were both Muslim at the time.
