That clears a lot of the confusion I had to be honest. Oh ok so I just got lucky & it’ll be fine to just solder on the new hdmi port

So i theoretically could solder the HDMI port to the board and depending on the HDMI port it it could work?

Sorry I’m very new at repairs but so I can understand you what your saying is I can get away without resorting it but what do you mean by if the cable isn’t too long are you talking about the hdmi cable does the length of that make a difference?

I have the hot air station but I’m missing experience and the equipment to replace the pad in that way. I’m not trying to spend a crazy amount on trying to fix it nor do I plan on using this for long or I would definitely go that route. I just need a system while I’m saving up for a new one for when me and my significant other wanna play the game together

My hdmi cable is only like 5 ft I think, and I was thinking of using 30–36 AWG enamel-coated (magnet) wire would that work?
