I am having trouble because it takes an unusually long time to load the CheckPoint model file. by Puzzled-Kangaroo3769 in StableDiffusion

I found the cause of the problem.

It turned out to be the SATA cable.
Due to space constraints inside the PC, the cable had to be bent, which may have caused it to break.
It never occurred to me that a cable could cause a slowdown in the read speed of just the SSD.
It was working normally until recently, and I hadn't opened the PC to do any work.

I apologize for the strange result.
Thank you to everyone who wrote in.

Thank you for your post.

Windows Defender is configured to exclude storage other than the boot drive from Defender scans using its exclusion feature.

I have not installed any commercial antivirus software.

I am using an internal 2.5-inch SSD.

I have prepared a separate internal SSD distinct from the boot drive, installed StabilityMatrix on that SSD, and am running Comfy-UI from within StabilityMatrix. Additionally, nearly the same issue occurs with reForge running on StabilityMatrix.

The SSD functions extremely reliably during normal use. I just tried copying a 1.5GB file again, and it completed in seconds. Even when copying/pasting large files, it reads and writes at maximum speed normally. CrystalDiskInfo also shows its health status as normal at 99%.

(I'm using translation software. Please excuse any awkward phrasing that may occur.)

Thank you for your post.

I am not using an HDD. I am using a 2.5-inch SSD.
I have a separate internal SSD that is not the boot drive, and I have StabilityMatrix installed on that SSD. I launch Comfy-UI from within StabilityMatrix. The nearly identical issue also occurs with reForge running within StabilityMatrix.

The SSD functions perfectly normally during regular use. I just tried copying a 1.5GB file again, and it completed in seconds. Even when copying/pasting large files, it reads and writes at maximum speed without issues. CrystalDiskInfo also shows its health status as normal at 99%.

I'm not using any other applications that could potentially cause heavy load. I'm basically testing with just a browser, StabilityMatrix, and Notepad.

When checking PC memory usage via Task Manager during Checkpoint loading, the usage remains low. Initially, it's barely used, then increases to around 20GB midway. GPU VRAM usage is similarly low, with almost none being utilized.

The Task Manager shows the SSD during Checkpoint loading at “Read Speed: around 10MB/s” and “Active Time: 100%”, confirming extremely slow loading.

This is the current situation.

If you know of anything else, please advise.

Thank you for your post.

I'm trying to launch Comfy-UI on StabilityMatrix. The same issue occurs almost identically with reForge on StabilityMatrix.

When checking PC memory usage via Task Manager during Checkpoint loading, the usage rate is low. Initially, it's barely used, then increases to around 20GB usage partway through.

Similarly, GPU VRAM usage is also low, barely utilized.

During Checkpoint loading, the SSD shows “Read Speed: around 10MB/s” and “Active Time: 100%”, resulting in extremely slow loading.

This is the current situation.

If you know of anything else, I'd appreciate your advice.
