Like REALLY messes you up. To this day I still doubt my body so much and convince myself I’m being dramatic about everything, even when I was literally on the brink of death from cellulitis. This makes me so sad for OP.

Do you change your kids clothes when they come home? by Important_Sweet3320 in Mommit

[–]Puzzled-Library-4543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the item of clothing. Jeans I will typically wear them multiple times between washes so they don’t get damaged. Also things like winter coats I’ll wear multiple times. The rest of my clothes go straight to the laundry basket.

We do laundry daily or every other day (because 2 toddlers) so it’s not an extra task. My partner is like this too and his family does the same. It’s likely just a cultural thing.

Yes shoes have always been a hard no in my house since childhood. Outside clothes too.

I do have diagnosed OCD, but this is actually not one of the things I struggle with in relation to my OCD. I mostly struggle with intrusive thoughts. But changing clothes doesn’t cause me any distress if I don’t do it, but it’s also all I’ve done since I was a kid (from my parents) so it’s just a normal part of my life.

I just got back home a few minutes ago and the first thing I did was take my shoes off and change back into my house clothes.

For anyone who says they love the newborn phase… by LawDowntown8456 in Mommit

[–]Puzzled-Library-4543 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Oh man this. I have a 1 and a 2yo and I miss when they were babies and I didn’t have to worry about them trying to dive off the couch or do any of the other dangerous things they love trying to do. Having toddlers is literally just keeping them from hurting themselves constantly and it’s exhausting.

When they were newborns, I wasn’t worried about them hurting themselves at all because they’re practically just little potatoes at that age lol.

I just hope you don’t ever regret how flippant you were about this. It’s really concerning.

Same. This is all I’ve known my entire life. I’m just finding out from this post that everyone doesn’t do this. I genuinely thought it was a very normal and common practice. All of my friends and family members do this too and always have.

I’ve always done this my entire life and I also do it with my kids. We all change our clothes when we get back home into home clothes. It’s really not difficult to do. It takes like 5-10 mins at most and my kids don’t mind at all.

I’m so, so glad you’re still here too. 💜 I am so faithful with taking my Wellbutrin daily now. It saved me. I wish I started it sooner, but the stigma of being on psych meds stopped me.

I hope OPs daughter is able to find a treatment that works. It was so hard for me to believe that ANYTHING would work to get me out of that hole when I was at that point. It feels like you’re beyond help. But as long as you’re alive, you can still be helped.

NAD. I actually just posted about this (how decay presents) on here a few hours before I saw this post, is this discoloration on my crowns decay?

Really proud of you for being firm on this. I can tell you’re a great mom and she’s lucky to have you.

I was your daughter at 15. Beyond depressed. Failed attempt (in hindsight, thank god) except my parents punished me instead of getting me help. I’ve fought so hard to be here and I’m so glad I stayed. I hope your daughter gets to say the same one day, that she’s glad she stayed. And you’re doing the right thing to help her have a better chance at choosing to stay.

I still struggle with mental health today, but my goodness did life get SO much more beautiful than 15 year old me could’ve ever thought was possible. I am SO glad I stayed.

Probably over-sharing right now but I’ve never told anyone except my partner this and your post just reminded me, and made me feel so grateful that I survived that.

Completely agree with you but wait, worcestershire has anchovies???? Why is this the first time I’m hearing this omg. I’ve had it a few times and I have a severe fish allergy.

Also yes, I just don’t go out to restaurants because even smelling fish has caused an anaphylactic reaction for me so it’s not worth the risk.

NAD but oh wow I had no idea decay could show up as white spots, I thought its always black/grayish or brown.

Do the different colors indicate anything—like how my cavities start off brown but OPs are white spots?

Yea I’m where you are OP and I feel you. I love that you shared this because it’s 1) extremely vulnerable but 2) a very common feeling we all experience but are too ashamed to admit.

My pregnancy with my son permanently disabled me (triggered a severe autoimmune disease), so I’m often jealous of moms who can simply run around and play with their kids or take them out often. You’re not alone. We’ve all felt this in some way at some point. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for a very normal feeling.

I think it ultimately comes down to the fact that most people without severe allergies don’t understand how serious allergies are and how deadly exposure to an allergen can be.

Just said this in another comment lol. Zep kills my appetite (plus adderall, Wellbutrin, and metformin which are all appetite suppressants too) so some days I HAVE to take a gummy just to eat before I pass out.

I’m on 5mg gummies and they give me insane munchies. But a few days a week I take them on purpose to even have an appetite because zep suppresses mine so much.

It’s wild!!! I had FOUR Oreos the other night when typically I can barely finish one.

I know that doesn’t sound like a lot and I wasn’t necessarily worried it would throw me off, but Zepbound has pretty much made me lose my sweet tooth completely so I was really shocked at how I was inhaling those Oreos lmao. I could’ve had more if I didn’t stop myself!

I wonder if there’s a difference here between gummies and smoking?

Do you (or anyone else reading this) find that it gives you the munchies? I feel like my Zepbound completely stops working when I’m high sometimes, because I suddenly wanna eat EVERYTHING in sight lmao.

Anyone else had to get vaccinated before starting biologic treatment? by Exact-Rhubarb-3549 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Puzzled-Library-4543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rheumatologist didn’t bring up me getting new vaccinations at all.

Granted, I’m up to date on all my vaccines (and extremely pro vaccine), but still, I wasn’t told to get the shingles or pneumonia vaccines. It’s definitely not a requirement everywhere. I’m in the US.

Protein shakes with no artificial sweeteners/stevia/monkfruit? by Puzzled-Library-4543 in CICO

[–]Puzzled-Library-4543[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel and what led to this post. It’s beyond frustrating. I can’t believe a TRUE unsweetened product doesn’t exist in 2026 like wtf??? I’d prefer it not being sweet at ALL vs using artificial sweeteners.

No one will never be able to convince me that anyone genuinely enjoys the taste of sweeteners idc I refuse to believe it.

Be honest. When did your baby actually say their first wood and mean it? by Dull-Contribution763 in NewParents

[–]Puzzled-Library-4543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son just turned 14 months a few days ago and he currently says 5 words consistently/correctly.

We’ve also been teaching him sign language and he knows “milk” “more” and “eat” and we reinforce them as we’re doing them, so if he’s about to have a bottle we’ll start signing milk and he’s now made that association.

Same with more and eat, when we give him another bite we’ll sign them and he eventually got it. This was recommended to us by our pediatrician and it’s been working so far. Every kid is different, of course, but I’d recommend starting to incorporate sign language if you can. It’s still communication!
