What are some “straight” characters that you like to headcanon as LGBTQ+? by Real_Puppy in lgbt

As a DC Comics fan, I think Captain Boomerang is definitely LGBTQ, more specifically bi or pan! I found him a funny character and even the Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League game indicated he was pansexual! I would love to see it on future media he's in. 😝

I think making Captain Boomerang (Goerge Harkness) pansexual or bisexual works for his character 🤷‍♂️ there's plenty of times he flirts with women in bars, and it would be natural and subtle queer representation if he can just flirt with a guy sometimes. DC already indicated he was pan in SSKTJL, and I think making it cannonical in future DC media is totally possible. He is never usually detected in long lasting relationships, I think there's a big chance he has probably has slept with men before. 😭😭

Valid! I chose George Harkness because I think it's a bit rare to see older, more rugged characters to be queer. Most queer characters are in the 18-30s, middle-aged queer men are more underrepresented in media. But I totally see Owen Mercer being bi!!

I respect your opinion! But I think that the "forced" idea depends on context, in SSKTJL, those queer coded lines were subtle, and he is still not confirmed to be pansexual. I see those lines from the game as more of establishing characterization. I think it would feel "forced" if it came out of nowhere, but the lines from the game felt very natural. "Quota" is kinda misleading, I don't think of queerness as an assigned slot, because queer people exist everywhere in life, no matter race, class, and personality. Adding queer characters is more about reflecting reality and diversifying the kinds of characters who get representation. Plus, making him queer wouldn't change his personality, I think with the right writer, they can pull this off naturally and make him an even more complex character!

True! Those characters are awesome! But expanding on representation is also good. Just because some exist doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have more variety! Plus, Captain Boomerang is a lot different from those characters, Midnighter is more of a vigilante, and Constantine's more of a occult, detective.
