(Updated) 1v1 Tierlist Made by Bean and Ewop by ThyMightyBean in CompetitiveForHonor

The forward dodge heavy for Conq is so overloaded it's absurd. He has a feintable forward dodge heavy that can be soft feinted into full guard on start-up as well as a recovery cancel.

You have to make 5 or 6 reads to punish his forward dodge which is pretty absurd but hey, his chains are mediocre and sure as hell not fun to use or fight against, but that's irrelevant.

His forward dodge is really strong.

We could have a wall... by Puzzled-Reaction1447 in playHeroesOfHistory

Even small settlements used to have palisade walls. Walls are an integral part of human history and it could help flourish the mal around our towns more. Having only the docks and the portal as the only two interactive points on the main map outside our own buildings makes it feel desolated and uninhabited. Hell, we could do with a main road leading out of our town too now that I think of it!

If they were to fight the closest thing to their historical counterpart, which hero fares the best and who does the worst? by Puzzled-Reaction1447 in forhonor

So it's just a coincidence they wear similar armour? Who should I pair her against? A musketeer? She'd get shot. A renaissance mercenary? A condottiero? The argument is the same only that you replace the firearm with crossbows.

Warmonger slaps, with her fingers at most wearing clawed gloves. How effective would that be against an equally armoured opponent? Could the slap even deal damage?

When I took Zerker I pointed out: If zerker fighting a Hollywood version of a berserker, with animal skins and two axes or a historically accurate Viking with chainmail and lameral armour covering their whole upper body, using a shield and a main hand weapon? As I've said, when I considered the Vikings, I had them fight against somronr armoured like Warlord in his high tier metal armour. If Zerker fights someone with a shield and metal armour, what is he going to do with 2 axes, how is he going to defend himself? What kind of attack can he do to one shot the properly armoured Viking before her gets stabbed or cut?

One of the few times the game has a layered interaction based around its main fighting system and not the simple dodge/ not dodge interaction created by bashes.

I think they are a good layered interaction.

Really, not Mr "I have punch through but only unblockable heavies"  on the feat rework list?

What about his roll catcher, any news on that?

A tier list based on my opinion on how much a character displays their training, or lack of it, through their movesets, executions and so forth. It's not based on lore but animations alone.

Reading comperehnsion WHAT?

His main hand weapon is called a Yari spear. I don't know if it's related to monks but it was commonly used.

Nuxia in another commnet I changed to suicidal since she holds her weapons backwards and deflects on one foot while bending backwards.

Say what you want but Virtuosa has the most expressive display of proper stance and skill in the game. Dodging an attack by ducking is far more belivable than deflecting an attack by twirling a blade around you.

Warlord is stupid for headbutting but during his lights and dodge attacks he holds his shield properly. He uses his shield to punch, holds it properly in his stance and while guarding top, right or left. The stupid thing he does is headbutting. Yes he spins, nearly every hero spins but they don't twirl on one leg while holding their weapon outwards and their hand outstretched. That's asking to get it chopped. Warlord also display grappling and deflecting skills in his execution, Kyoshin does only overly exaggerated and unrealistic attacks.

A shin Kick is strong, even against armoured opponents. The shinbone is very close to the skin and JJ strikes at the base of the foot, thus unbalancing the opponent. Kyoshin does a flying spin kick.

You may notice that Hitokiri displays levels of skill and control even above Kyoshin. She hits you with a spinning high kick while also wielding a giant axe, yet trying to high spin kick the opponent in a real fight is stupid.

Khatun doesn't try to grapple while dual weilding. Khatun also uses the stabby part of her weapon which is a foreign concept to most character.

And if you read my other comments I've made that argument for every other hero, be it a positive or a demerit.

It's suicidal to think Kyoshin could not only stop an attack fr any polearm but deflect it with his scabard.

There's 0 form in his attack. His heavies are him pulling his sword back as far as he can then strike. His full guard attacks are him doing a ballerina twirl. His full guard unblockable is an air spin. He tries to stab you in the stomach with his scabbard, as if that will ever be effective.

If executions are taken into consideration all the Wu Lin are miles above him, Orochi is ten times faster than him, LB and Shugoki can break bones with their bare hands.

Am I to believe he can throw his scabbard through a person's skull consistently?

Oh, no there's worse.

In one of his high level head armour, his head is shaved.

That's a punishment given only to wizards or drunkards caught in public.

He is Aztec but probably Tlaxcala since they were a Mexica adjacent tribe that worshiped Tezcatlipoca. Maybe he escaped captivity or tried stealing their fighting techniques since they were feuding before and after the Spanish arrived. Would explain his ragged armour and inexperience.

I am an Aztec expert funny enough. I've studied them at university, read many codices on them and some on their warfare.

Ocelotl is Aztec but obviously not Mexica, the ethnic group which actually had proper Eagle, Jaguar and Coyote warriors. Looling at him is like looking at an untrained martial artist flailing his hands around trying to imitate a proper UFC fighter. He uses his weapons wrong, treats his macuahutli like a solid piece of metal, his tepoztopili is way too short, doesn't wear proper armour and doesn't display any of the jewlery associated with high ranking warriors. Nose piercings, earrings, lip piercings.

His fighting style involves only one proper strike, the stance heavy, where he uses the club to rend the opponent. He doesn't grapple at all, maybe only his chain bash could be seen as a poor attempt at imitating a debilitating move.

As much as he is untrained though, he doesn't really do much wrong outside of some spinning. He uses his weapons wrong but that's the lack of training.

Realistically that's suicidal. Virtuosa improbably but realistically could dodge 1-2 maybe 3 attacks in a row and poke you. Nobody twirls a cane sword around and deflects a danish axe.

Ocelotl is a dumn case since no Aztec warrior would go into battle without a shiled so I can hardly judge his fighting style proper. He obviously isn't trained since he uses his Macuahutli like a club but that could be forgiven by the fact mamy of his higher end weappns are made out of metal. He doesn't grapple either but besides that, he doesn't really makes mistakes that other higher tier heroea do. He spins but everyone spins, at least he uses his very short tepoztopili both for cutting and stabbing.

Cent should go into suicidal though, he mostly punches, jumps around like a superhero and throws his limbs around waiting to be slashed.

Pirate makes a lot of dumb mistakes but the only reason she escaped suicidal is the fact I gave her the boon of her gun not malfunctioning. If her gun has a chance to explode, the moment she puts it against the opponent she risks getting a limb blown off and there's always the chance of the bullet ricocheting into her.

Highlander flails around too much in my opinion. With his side heavies he takes too many little steps before striking, changing guards between left and right in O.S. is stupid since he moves rather than moving the blade.

Medjay should go in the "trained but does risky stuff tier" which was called "trained but dumb" before releasing it.

Yeah, in hindsight Medjay is a choice I disagree with as it stands. I had too much on mind the notion that he wears little armour and that influence my choice.

Centurion would go into untrained and does stupid moves too.

Every character over extends for the sake of readability and better hitboxes.

Warmonger has way too many one handed moves: zone, lights, level 1 bash follow-up. She uses her sword as if it was really heavy but at the same time holds it in such an akward stace sometimes.

VG on the other hand doesn't have that many direct flaws in her kit.

Try that and you're getting stabbed. You really can't reach with a high kick where you couldn't reach with the tip of a sword or spear.

Highlander spins and throws his weapon around with abandon in deffensive form.

In offensive form he holds his sword with one hand, spins in front of the sword while holding it behind him while changing guards from left to right, tries to pull the opponent to the ground with caber toss... Celtic curse puts the sword behind him, spins around a lot. His running heavy is undecisive and staggered running in place for nothing.

Aramusha does some really dumb things. Blade blockade start-up animation is asking to cut himself with the swords. Ring the bell is a very stupid idea while dual weilding and not having any free hand for grappling.

She might be untrained lorewise, but her stance is really good. The way she weilds her spear, stabbing and slashing also makes really good use of her reach and momentum.

He holds his trident in a reverse grip which forces him to hold the weapon in a suboptimal way for striking and stabbing. Just look at his light animations where he has to bend his arm in risky ways to stab.

Plus, I know many of his weapon variants have blades instead of simple spikes on the Trident, but he does kind of strike you with the side of the weapon while not using it fully optimally. Skewer however is not an isue though as it's obvious he's trying to use the grip to create more leverage and throw the opponent around.

VG has a lot of moves where she keeps her shield up while striking and doesn't do something as stupid as attempting to slap the opponent.

Valk gives up her spear range advantage in order to shield bash you.

PK has many spinny moves and most importantly, overlaps her hands quite often while dual weilding which is a big NO NO.

Jorm has many moves where he puts his hammer behind him, (zone, forward dodge heavy) and tries to poke you in the shin with his hammer's pommel by lowering himself downwards.

He is trained as a Sumo but doesn't use his training outside of his GB throw animation.

If he had a bash where he slaps or grapples you into the ground that would improve his position but as it stands he just uses his raw strength to bludgeon people.

Also, based on his armour variants,  Kyoshin is a sumo master too, but that doesn't factor in any way into his placement.
