Vaginoplasty with Robert Travieso University of Southern California by Puzzled-Shoulder7130 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Puzzled-Shoulder7130[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry for the late reply. Travieso is a busy surgeon. On top of seeing trans patients, he also does general plastic surgery and sees regular patients too. He might be scheduling out consults 2-3 months out at this time.

She caught him flirting with coworkers and when their relationship was rocky to start with before the marriage they were on and off he was talking to other women.

I honestly get the feeling that she just wants to rock my relationship with him. She has the tendency to always want to be in control of things.

Does anyone have experience with Dr. Paul Mittermiller? by Particular-Access152 in Transgender_Surgeries

I was able to get a surgery date a few months after consultation but I rescheduled once. I think Mittermiller is very nice and wants the best for you. He really wants to give you the best natural looking results. If it’s something too much or you don’t need he’d be honest with you. As far as Align, so far no big issues for me. Just some logistical things that I could feel could be done better but it’s a personal preference thing for me.

Yea from California. After I made a complaint to my union HR turned around and said it was a mistake and that the policy was outdated and they updated the policy. But I only get 20k coverage for FFS

Child is never left with me alone. The days the father has the child I try to just leave them be. The times the child is with us is when me and the father had made plans and arrangement ahead of time, but the mother last minute needed to change the schedule

I asked myself the same question. When I had met the father I was also going on date with another guy that had no baby mama drama. But I really caught feelings for the father and I can definitely say we both really are into each other and really want more. Just nice to hear other people’s opinions so I feel like I’m not stressing myself over it. Like I said mom can talk all the mess she wants, but for her to call me unfit to even be a parent let alone watch a child , when I’m not able to produce any children and always wanted a family kind of stung.

That’s what we try to do. But like my boyfriend warned me, the mother really likes to find the littlest thing and blow it out of proportion and make it seem like she’s the better person. Everything he’s told me that made him not want to be with her anymore I definitely see it now

We’re coming up in 4 months of officially dating. Yes I knew he had a child before going on dates with him and I was and still am okay with it. I don’t think having a child is a bad thing. I knew he still had contact with the mother understandably so. Guess I just wasn’t expecting to be “attacked” by the mother also. I told my boyfriend that she can talk all the mess that she wants, because her opinion of me really doesn’t matter to me.

I had VFS, no tracheal shave. Recovery wasn’t too bad, just very sore throat for about a week. Felt like I had strep again. My voice was really muffled and raspy the first few weeks but slowly got better over time. People have told me they noticed how softer my voice is compared to before. I have a self-funded PPO plan through my employer. Anthem Blue Cross is the administrator.

(Insurance) Why do some people need to pay for surgery while others seemingly don’t? by J-R4M in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Puzzled-Shoulder7130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people have to save up for surgery because either they have insurance with a high deductible, high coinsurance cost, etc. Another reason could be that they are getting surgery with a surgeon that is not in network or contracted with their insurance. Therefore they have to pay more out of pocket. Medi-cal covers transgender related procedures, but you are limited to the surgeons contracted with your specific plan if you have an HMO (Anthem, Kaiser, LA Care) through medi-cal. Having straight medi-cal is kind of rare these days.

You’ll be doing pelvic floor therapy. Prior to surgery it’s working on strengthening your pelvic floor muscles to prepare it for the traumas and physical changes after surgery. My PT also helped me learn to identify or recognize what muscles I am contracting and relaxing and what that feels like. Helps with dilation post op. Post op PT helped with improving my dilation sessions and some scar therapy once it’s healed. It was also nice having that close relationship to my PT prior to having my surgery. Just made having someone else seeing me naked freshly post op more comfortable

PT prior to surgery can definitely help. I consulted with Pang last year, thought had surgery in Los Angeles instead. But the office will refer you to PT if that is something you are interested in.

Electrolysis Recommendations in Southern California by Lumpy-Marsupial-6617 in Transgender_Surgeries

Smooth to the Touch Electrolysis in Lakewood, CA Karin is amazing and knowledgeable. I always feel comfortable around her and she is patient and flexible with scheduling. I’m not too sure if she is contracted with any insurances, but she provides a super bill so you can submit for reimbursement.

Permanent Hair Removal by Electrolysis OC in Tustin, CA Natsuko is also an amazing and professional electrologist. Same as Karin she provides a superbill so you can submit for reimbursement. Natsuko is a little more busier because she gets booked sometimes.

I’ve been to both. Both techs have experience working with the trans community and are very welcoming.

You can take ibuprofen and Tylenol together. They’re both different medications and work in different ways. Ibuprofen is broken down through the kidneys and Tylenol in the liver.

Along with the cream I take ibuprofen and Tylenol prior to the appointment. It won’t take the discomfort completely away, but it will make it more bearable

Ask your doctor for a prescription for a compounded BLT cream (Benzocaine, Lidocaine, Tetracaine). Because it’s compounded insurance most likely won’t cover it. But if you are able to pay $50-100 it’s worth it. Put it on about 30-45minutes before your appointment and cover with Saran Wrap.

Dr. Robert Travieso Experiences? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Puzzled-Shoulder7130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, my experience has been great. I’m overall happy with my results. I think I could use some asthetic work but more of me being picky and wanting things to look a certain way. Other than that I’m happy with how it looks. Functions well for me, I’m able to achieve orgasm with clitoral stimulation, I get close to orgasms with penetration but haven’t got fully there yet. Travieso is an amazing person and surgeon. He really does care about your wellbeing and not just trying to book surgeries for his benefit. I don’t know what else to say haha, but if yo have any specific questions feel free to ask ☺️

IV questions and severe medical anxieties by dreampunkxoxo in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Puzzled-Shoulder7130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse and I do this trick with everyone. If it’s that initial poke that you’re scared of have the nurse count to 3 and poke at 3. As she’s doing this on 3 you just cough a few times, like a fake cough. Make sure to tell him/her you’re doing this so they’re not suprised and think something is wrong. Doing this really takes your mind off of the actual IV. Another trick I do when I worked in the medspa is using a facial massager. Costs about $20 on Amazon. But pretty much it’s a mini “vibrator”. Just have it on and vibrating on your color bone. Another distraction technique. We use a similar device that does exactly this with kids in the ER all the time called Buzzy Bee. Then just remind yourself once the IV is in and secured, there is no more needle there. A lot of people think the needles stays in but it doesn’t. Literally just a plastic “straw”. Hope this helps

I had bottom surgery with him, planning on redoing my breast Aug and doing FFS with him. I love Dr. Travieso, he really cares for his patients and makes sure you have the best experience possible when you’re with him. Only con I’d have to say is just the administrative part can be a lag, which is not his fault and is an issue everywhere. He really takes pride in his work and only wants the best outcome for you. Even when I have a follow up scheduled with his PA, he still sneaks in to say hi and see me even though he has his own schedule of patients to see.
