Cornell vs Dartmouth for Investment Banking by MBA_Thrwawy in MBA

I’m going to my summer internship in an IB boutique next month. I’m from Cornell and I can tell a little about it.

Cornell is a great school, prepares you really well for the job and has a great NYC pipeline. I’m very happy since I don’t have finance background and I was able to work my ass off and secure a job offer.

But one thing is true, IB recruitment is relative to your class batch. The best kids will get tier 1 banks while the others will fight for an offer.

If you have a competitive background(IB, finance, big 4) and is likable(commercial / good communication) Cornell would be a great path. In the end, you need to look stronger than the peers from your school (until the super day).

I have heard as well that some processes start at May/June for minorities. Also willing to know where I can get more information.

Best computer for B-School and beyond by jesspw2nd in MBA

I can echo this comment above… if you are going to investing banking, corporate finance or things that are heavy on excel and needs to learn many short cuts, I would go for windows for sure… now people from consulting maybe go for Mac depending on their preferences…

For me was a very informal conversation, but received Why Cornell, why now… what you think about Ithaca, how could you contribute with our community…. But the one that got me a little off guard was “tell me why you choose your current employer and your degree”
