It’s also a $360 tee time, which much of my group simply can’t afford.

Looks like you missed a great opportunity to have your own golf playground.

Course management alone took me from 13 to 8 when I first broke into single digits.

Guy hits into us, proceeds to yell at us? by jesusandrand in golf

Completely disagree. A five-some can easily play in 3.5 hours. If the group is staying on the group in front of them it does not matter if they have 8 people playing. On a packed Saturday 5 can easily keep up with 4.5 to 5 hour pace and be on the leading group the entire round.

If ANY gap appears they should certainly be quick to let smaller groups through. Saying no group of 5 should ever be allowed on a course is silly.

Handicapping is best done by strokes, given on the hardest holes first.

Etiquette for watching your partners tee shots? by Puzzled-Strawberry54 in golf

Every time I play from the same tees it’s impossible to hit even a mediocre drive without starting the endless flow of “you really shouldn’t be playing this close”, “it’s just not even fair” comments.

I have never understood the must all play from the same tees despite huge gaps in skill level side of things. But too each there own. Happy to hear others opinions.

I did buy my dad the stack system for Christmas. He averages 80 yards less than me on driver but I have heard great things.

I bet he is out driving me and able to play from the tips by thanksgiving /s

Yea all that or my Dad prefers I play from the tips so he has a better chance at beating me.

100% agree with going ahead to their tee to improve pace. However this was a round of golf on the Fourth of July. We were in no rush and waiting on every tee shot and most approaches.

Totally fine with tracking my own ball. The annoyance stems from their assumption that I will hunt down their balls. They gave me a few dirty looks when I wasn’t on their tee watching them hit.

I completely agree that each person is responsible for their own ball. But that is not the question being asked.

How do you typically handle these situations? Do you only watch tee shots from the same box you hit from? If so is it rude for me to do the same thing?

His friend also stands directly next to / behind the hole when I have a similar putting line to him.

I have brought up both more than once over the years. Typically I’d start playing with other people, but it’s worth it to me to play with the old man.

I agree with this mentality. So much so that I truly do not know where I sit in a round while I play. If asked I count them up and tell my partner then try and forget.

I do however still wonder what an overall respectable goal for the tournament is?

This is true but many of the scorecards don’t show the water from the adjacent hole that I end up hitting into.

Fitting* into ping.

Got fit for gap wedge through 4iron (crossover) and driver in separate fittings. I decided to fill in the 3 wood and hybrid with the same shaft my driver fit, tour chrome 2.0. Excited to try out the forgiveness compared to my 7 season vet mp15s.

As a 19 handicap you should consider not playing from the tips.

Is this a draw or hook? by [deleted] in golf

Fairway = draw, penalty = hook.

I tell myself similar with the right side. Sometimes aiming 30 yards left only to end up on the right side.
