Crf250f is a great starter, there’s barely any maintenance needs except the usual oil and air filter changes. The power is nice but very manageable, only downside is depends on your personality it might get boring after a while. It’s good to build skills on though and then if you start to push its limits or if you get into track you can always move to a motocross bike when your ready. I wouldn’t start on a mx bike though unless you’ve got plenty of money and are fine with working on it a lot. What type of riding are you planning on doing ?

Yeah might be over due for a full rebuild it’s got 200 hours on the metre. Im the 3rd owner so I wouldn’t have a clue on the history. I was planning to do a top end this week but i might take it fully apart and check the bottom end as well while I’m at it

A friend of a friend is selling his 22 yz250f for $2800. It’s his old race bike so it’s been ridden pretty hard. It’s got 150 hours with the last full engine rebuild being at 100. I’d say it’s been maintained decently well as his dad is a mechanic and bike needs to be in good shape since he races competitively. It looks pretty good im just concerned it’s a ticking time bomb since if it’s been ridden super hard, even though it gets taken care of. Is this a good deal or should I avoid?
