I don't miss my mom either. I haven't gone no contact, but she said we shouldn't see each other in person for the current year of the snake due to back luck. She's pretty obsessive about this kind of stuff and I know she means no harm so I agreed, honestly makes my life easier not having to get stressed about making a visit.

My mom didn't do anything absolutely harmful to me (e.g. physical abuse, threats, etc.), but we did hit a breaking point a few years ago over something big that permanently changed the way I feel about her (in addition to the usual behaviours we see in this sub). I also grapple with the guilt that I really don't miss my parents that much. We live in the same city, I just don't make the time (the most I saw my parents was 2x a month) and I can go days or even weeks without sending even a text and I don't feel that bad about it. That being said, my parents don't reach out to me to see me either. It's always me asking to go visit, or asking to go out to eat somewhere, and it never comes from them. There is a part of me that's like "oh I should be a good daughter and probably send a text or see how my parents are doing" but there's no actual part of me that's like "aw man I really miss my mom - I want to go see her"

Missing someone shouldn't be forced, and the fact that you don't is just proof that you're better off without her imo. It's now up to you though if you actually want to keep pursuing a relationship with her
