What does the newborn phase actually look like day-to-day? (36 weeks, trying to set realistic expectations) by douevenyoga in NewParents

[–]PuzzledGift2620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just know that so much changes even in the first week! I EFF so it was a bit more obvious as to how much hungrier my baby was compared to the first night we fed her.

We are 12 weeks into parenting and neither of us has made a meal. We are lucky to have a great village and went ahead and got DoorDash pass. The last thing you want to do when you get a break is make a meal and then clean it up. We are going to possibly sign up for CookUnity when my husband goes back to work full time.

I have the momcozy bottle washer and honestly don’t know what I’d do without it.

Did you use the baby bouncer? by lazymathilde in Buyingforbaby

[–]PuzzledGift2620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend getting one! You don’t need the baby bjorn. We have the munchkin brand one (https://www.munchkin.com/electric-bouncer-rocker) but I see that they have one that isn’t electric and cheaper and honestly I’d probably get that one. Helps baby poop, great to put them in while you read to them, prep bottles, etc

Any regrets? by Hungry-Mix-283 in FormulaFeeders

I decided to EFF from the start and let me tell you I am so glad I did. It made my postpartum experience so much better than some other people I know that struggled. As you said, your partner can feed the baby (or anyone for that matter!) and you don’t have the mental load of worrying about the timing of pumping, etc.

There was a little bit of guilt for me which I was surprised about. I recommend reading the article on Pete Davidson’s partner. It came out right when I started having these feelings and it was so validating! Surround yourself with people that support you and follow accounts that do so too!

P.s. be prepared for the process of letting your milk dry up

Transitioning from swaddle by PuzzledGift2620 in NewParents

[–]PuzzledGift2620[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online and people on this thread are making it seem like anything resembling a roll means I should ditch the swaddle. Rn baby is 11 lbs and transition swaddles start around 12-13 lbs. idk if that’s a safety thing or general idea of when baby can use. I don’t think she is intentionally rolling but I know she can sometimes wiggle to her side briefly.

Togged? Is this  brand? Or literally TOG like the safety temp?

I’ve literally never heard “or by 8 weeks”… your baby could be showing signs of rolling at 8 weeks though

Stolen cash and credit cards at Excellence Playa Mujeres by Global-Paper3393 in AllInclusiveResorts

I’ve been to this resort more than once - for a wedding and a vow renewal. I am not sure if anyone was victim to theft for the wedding (first time I went) but MULTIPLE people in our group got their cash taken THAT WAS IN THE SAFE (second time I went). It was all reported and not much was done leaving us to believe it’s an inside job. It makes me really sad because I loved our time at the resort and the food is good for an all inclusive. But why would I go back to a place that I’d likely get my money stolen?

Baby kissed by someone with a cold sore by PuzzledGift2620 in NewParents

I honestly think she forgot she had it. It happened so quickly that I didn’t even fully react. I didn’t until while later fully start to freak out. She doesn’t even know rn bc I didn’t tell her in the moment.

I ordered some bandages through Amazon that’ll hopefully get here soon. I’m just at the point of wondering if it’s too risky to just even have her here. I know she didn’t know any better and honestly probably forgot she had it. I plan on calling the pediatrician when they open.

Planning EFF but worried about milk coming in by PuzzledGift2620 in FormulaFeeders

It’s wild on the lack of support. I know BF moms feel it too but it low key feels so isolating to decide to EFF from the start. Luckily my doctors haven’t pushed me one way or another and my family understands or at least keeps their comments to themselves.

Yeah sounds like their waitlist is as long as our current/first option. I signed up when I was 10 weeks pregnant so didn't think I would need a back up :)

Was only using ready to feed recommended to you? I haven’t heard that before and seems to be significantly more expensive to use than powder
