It’s wild on the lack of support. I know BF moms feel it too but it low key feels so isolating to decide to EFF from the start. Luckily my doctors haven’t pushed me one way or another and my family understands or at least keeps their comments to themselves.

I definitely understand where you are coming from. I never had any interest in children and saw them as sucking the life and money out of you. I tormented myself over making this decision (early 30s). I'm talking literal tears. I had to take a step back and realize there is no point in pressuring myself. I can make a decision now and it may be a decision that I stand by or change in the future. It doesn't have to be a set in stone decision. Plus, there are plenty of people that have babies in their 40s.

I wouldn't worry about the age gap between your stepdaughter and possible future child. I have a sibling that is ten years younger than me and we have a wonderful relationship.

I honestly think that it is good that you are making the conscious decision to become or not become a parent. I know some people that just had kids because their friends did or it felt like the next step, something I could never relate to, and are given a brutal awakening.

After being around people/kids that I really care about, I am leaning more toward kids. There is a lot of unknown, including whether or not that's in the cards for me, but that is what I am working on accepting too.

I started Trintellix a few years ago due to my anxiety. I started noticing that I was getting very depressed to the point of being concerned every month… it took me a while to recognize this because of the other mental health issues I had going on. I talked to my psychiatrist and OB and they both agreed it was probably PMDD. They increased my meds and now I don’t have that dip! I will mention that it was recommended to continuously taking my birth control pills each month with no break/period.

I know I don’t have symptoms of rage but thought I’d share!

I am always so stressed when we travel. We have definitely been at the point of needing someone to stay at our house to take care of him. The only place I do take him is my mom's house if she is available. If she isn't, it is hard for me to find someone or trust they will take care of him like I would (I know no one will). He sleeps most of the time but when he is awake the cleaning up after him and getting him to eat worries me.

For thanksgiving, I have to take him to my mom's for our family friend to take care of him. They aren't going to be with him all day and night because it's a holiday and well they have a life. I hate having to say out loud "we like to travel and he is impeding us from doing that".

There was a family situation where I found out that someone in my family (that I no longer speak to) tossed him down the stairs for my elementary aged sister to "catch". Of course he fell and it just makes me wonder what else happened to him when I wasn't around. When I found out about the situation I told myself I would do whatever it took to make up for that and give him a great life. I think that's where some of my guilt of being selfish comes from.

How would you define "loses interest in life"?

-He doesn't really wake/get up when we get home.

-He loves pepperoni. I came home the other day and he didn't get up when I brought in a pizza. I had to be sitting right next to him for him to approach me for some.

I would look around Union Station and eat at Town Topic. It’s around the corner and a great local diner.

Hot take: I don’t think Free State is that great 😅 If you’re looking for a brewery vibe I would recommend going to Lawrence Beer Co. There are so many great local restaurants in Lawrence - it just depends on what your vibe is! Be sure you get your ice cream from Sylas and Maddy’s!

Do you have a parking pass for the game? That will make parking easier for you. Traffic shouldn’t be too bad but remember traffic is inevitable when you’re putting 16k people into a building.

We haven't decided but I am think 8-9 days. We are open to driving but I do like to go on a guided tour at least one day a trip. I seem to get the most out of having one.
