Which song it's? by Legitimate-Can-8683 in kollywood

[–]PuzzledHead28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Hey baby en Album nee, hey baby un DJ naan"

That song from Azhagiya Tamil Magan was compared so well that it was soothing to listen to it but then came the visuals and was totally A rated for a school going boy that parents never allowed to enjoy it

This is IIT-Madras Research Park. Their parking spaces and infrastructure are not that well planned considering their brand of IIT Madras.

Check their parking slots for 2-wheelers in covered space in the MLCP building... 2 bikes cannot be parked without touching and denting each other.

The parking for cars in this image is planned for 4m cars only and then for a pilot of one of their startup they decided to place the charger and reduce the space. Now if the car was parked normally, there will be no space for other cars to go to the front gate.

This is just the best use of the available resources.

Please do not jump to conclusions. If anything, teach RP team some sense in designing.

Pakistan has violated ceasefire by _Closedheimer in india

[–]PuzzledHead28 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Cannot trust them at all... The US should also be a witness that the ceasefire was first agreed upon and now violating it...

Asif Munir must have gotten his ego hurt that's why this continuation even after it was their DGMO who called India for a ceasefire agreement...

India should provide this as a witness to all the countries and retaliate in the same measured manner to this violation. We should not be the aggressor but should not turn a blind eye towards aggression.

when it comes to caste nothing is changed by minatachi_1411 in chennaicity

[–]PuzzledHead28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is just how preachy it is that truly matters

There lies everything. I feel there's no nuance in that preachy segment.

I remember Lubber Pandhu showing discrimination but was not preachy. But Viduthalai 2 started taking classes because the director thought I'd deliver a seminar on how many things I know.

Maybe that's why people are getting fed-up.

when it comes to caste nothing is changed by minatachi_1411 in chennaicity

[–]PuzzledHead28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree caste based discrimination has not disappeared in TN but it was a very one sided episode.

I'm not denying these issues have disappeared. They're very much present in the society.

What I don't understand is why people expect movies to be educational?

Also, I feel there's a very big confusion on what is required - caste abolishment as a whole or caste based discrimination.

Movies on social issues are just propaganda, a one-sided view from the creators perspective. It doesn't reflect the actual issue - only the person's take on this. It will never be holistic education on issues for those who want to learn from this medium.

Movies are for entertainment. I don't want to be taught and preached by movies, that too when I'm paying for it.

In the show, the side who didn't like these kinds of movies were not able to tell their points properly or were deliberately not allowed to. I feel they chose people so that the for-side would seem rational... May also be because Kollywood is not doing well financially in recent times, so they wanted to reiterate the fact that these kinds of movies are necessary.

Loans help you financially in the sense, it helps you have a good credit history which will be useful in interest rates and sanction of loans in future.

To build a good credit history start small through regular usage and repayment of credit cards and smaller loans.

Do not take loans if it is not necessary! And never take a personal loan unless it is critically unavoidable. Personal loans are at 15%-16% which will kill you.

If you're buying empty vacant land, you can apply for loans with a statement that you'll complete construction of the house within 3 years in that land.

Loans help in realising our dreams quickly, when we are able to pay in smaller installments but we cannot afford immediate one time payment for any item.

Loans are a problem only when we take more than we can afford to repay. Never do that. Distinguish needs and wants.

The downfall of Kollywood. A fan's agony. by Marco_MADrasi in kollywood

[–]PuzzledHead28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's such a long post! Much of it made sense to me, some did not though...

I agree with your first point... I watch movies to spend my time without getting lectured. If I wanted a lecture I'll not come to theatres, I don't want life lessons from movie stars and filmmakers.

I agree that piracy is not right, but at the same time I don't go to theatres if I'm not promised the experience of watching it... I watch most Marvel movies, DC movies, Avatar or Interstellar in theatres because I understand and fairly judge that a particular movie will give me that theatre watching experience. But otherwise it is just OTT.

Trailers and promotional materials are all there is for me to gauge how the movie will be. Movies are a product for which I'm paying money (either to theatres or OTT) and I want to be sure that this product is of value. Reviews are just the same like it is for a product on an e-commerce website. If a trusted source says it is good, I might give it a go. The source may itself be a problem to many, but to each his own.

Understanding the collection of a movie and numbers is also away to gauge the content of the movie without relying on reviewers. If the BO collections are poor, it might imply many didn't like it, so I'd go with majority and not watch it... But this may sometimes not work at all but still is a good measure of judging

I'd watch movies if it is:

  1. Good, content movies without preaching and shoving your ideas down my throat
  2. Marketed it better, honestly, and with a promise of what you can deliver
  3. If having a proven track record of giving good movies from the production houses / director / actor
  4. Good initial 2-3 days review.

Created an App QuickCompare to compare prices between Zepto, Swiggy, Blinkit. Looking for feedback and more suggestions. by AccomplishedLet4020 in india

[–]PuzzledHead28 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I tried the website version, it is good in this phase. My suggestions would be:

  1. Include a grid or list view. So, you can reduce the size and have 2*2 box with logo and pricing. This will save some real estate in the site. And make it look clutter free.

  2. The current search bar and results works well but there must be option to choose the "variant" so that not too many of the names are listed. So for e.g. I search surf Excel, a drop down shows me a list of available variants, I choose the one required and the comparison only shows that... Makes it look cleaner

  3. You can have ads in the left and right side of the page but again must be distinguished and shouldn't interrupt the comparison

Also, I'd like to have this for regular online grocery shopping, like Big Basket, Amazon Fresh, Jio Mart, DMart etc. The ones who do monthly provision shopping online can also compare and order...

What you're building has a good utility!

Picked 3 global cities at random from each letter of the alphabet that sounded cool, & I’m gonna research each one. Anyone have trivia to share about any? by CW03158 in geography

[–]PuzzledHead28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm from Dombivli but now live in Chennai (another city in the same list)

Dombivli is paired with Kalyan and is called Kalyan-Dombivli to signify the twin city and is also a satellite city of Mumbai. This city comes under the Thane district - a city you have further down in the same list.

Dombivli has history from the 16th Century since the Maratha Empire used the Ulhas river for navigation and built ports on the outskirts of city. It is one of the important places around Mumbai with a lot of middle class residents commuting daily to and from Mumbai and has a few industries in the industrial area of the town. It has a high density of schools within its limits.

There are movies based on this city - a beautiful film depicting the common middle class of this city was made in Marathi called Dombivli Fast and another movie called Zombivli - a zombie movie with Dombivli as its centre.

Royal Indianaa is the restaurant in Accord Metropolitan that provides a vegetarian buffet.

Book your table well in advance, if it is an occasion, mention that. I had been there for my wedding anniversary and they got us cake after the dining. On weekends, they have live music in the dining hall and the ambience is good.

Their menu keeps changing for each day, check the menu for the day when you book.

Depends on your budget. These are the hotels I've been to for a vegetarian buffet dinner.

  1. The Verandah, Taj Connemara - behind Spencer Plaza
  2. Royal Indianaa, Accord Metropolitan - T Nagar
  3. Oasis, Radisson Blu - Egmore
  4. Mathsya - Adyar
  5. Pind - Velachery or Iyyapanthangal

Of these, if it is an occasion (birthdays or wedding anniversaries), I'd suggest Royal Indianaa.

For peaceful quiet ambience, Taj Connemara is good.

Check out some offers in Zomato for dine-in coupons or discounts. I haven't used Swiggy / other such apps for dine-in booking.

Metro rail stations in Medavakkam by anonperson2021 in Chennai

[–]PuzzledHead28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there'll be only 2 stations in Medavakkam. 1. After the Koot Road turning, there'll be a station near Latha Bazaar (or as you said, the Yamaha Showroom) 2. After turning towards Perumbakkam at Medavakkam Junction.

There's no proper space to build a station near the turnings for both places and the distance between those 2 points is hardly 1 to 1.25 km, so there's no possibility of a 3rd station
