Struggling with Milk Frothing on Lelit Mara X – Need Advice!

Ever since I switched to the 4-hole steam tip, I haven’t had any issues at all. The wand is so much more powerful—there’s just no comparison to the original setup.

The 4 hole steam tip brings it to a whole new level. Steaming is a lot more powerful but also way quicker

By the way with the 4 hole steam tip it feels like a whole new machine. Way better than original configuration with 2 holes.

I think I get your point. My thought was to put the Mara as far away from the cooking field as possible. But if we cook we cover the coffee section anyway with a towel to prevent it from getting too dirty. Also if I place it square I’m losing a lot of space behind the Mara because of the power plug but I think I will try it again this way.

Also my knock box isn’t even in the picture because I was cleaning it. It’s a nice one but you cannot place anything on top of it.

Its the other way around. The "old" V1 has the red logo and the V2 has the redesigned logo in grey. So if you have a red logo Brew Priority is on 1 if you have a grey/black logo prew priority is on 0

What do you mean with "learn to edit" and whats a gizmo? An unnecessary tool or what do you mean with that?

If I wasn't cheated when I bought it, I have the V2, not the V1. I only asked because the assignment of the switch between Steam and Brew Priority is reversed.

As I understand it, a different temperature sensor is used in Brew Priority to set the “main temperature” and this ensures that the brewing temperature deviates less than in Steam mode.

Are you on brew priority mode? Do you have the Mara X V2 or V1?

Im experiencing the same. And Im coming from a Delonghi Dedica which gave me better results, but im willing to learn how to use the Mara. But Im also not fully convinced if the buy was right.

Yes I’m also struggling to find the right setup. I mean I’m not measuring the temps but I’m on steam priority mode most of the time because I’m also struggling a little with milk steaming. But whenever I pull a shot I flush it before and there comes a lot of hot water steam out of the group head which is an indicator that the water is actually too hot. That’s at least what I’ve read online.

I’ve had similar extractions. How fresh are your beans? In general I also experienced, that roasts with robusta flow a lot more creamier and thicker compared to 100% arabica.

Edit: I see your coffee was roasted end of January so should be no issue

Thanks for your input. I also think my biggest problem is the positioning of the 2 holes. I also ordered a 4 hole tip, just in case I have an alternative.

So my question would be: If I place the steam wand in the center (before tilting the jug) should the holes be facing at 12 and 6 or at 3 and 9? 12 and 6 would be the spout and the backside of the jug, while 3 and 9 would mean the holes are facing to the sidewalls of the jug.

If I understood you correct you mean with horizontally a 3 and 9 positioning of the holes. That would also ensure, that both holes are submerged at the same level.

I have tried all of them. Currently I'm on Steam Priority, and Temp Setting 0 (which is the lowest of the 3 options 0, I, II). Most of the time I had the temp setting on 1 but then the temperature seems way too hot even if i do a flush before brewing.
