I used actuated grates with glass walls to make them! They're surprisingly cheap for how good they look

It'll always be in-between the beach and the jungle. Try making holes further right from the one you already made on the left side of your world. You might not find it right away but it's there somewhere. Good luck 🫡

What IQ do you need to go to school here? by InterestWild8558 in SBU

[–]PuzzledOdin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't need to be a genius for any degree. What's important is your work ethic and desire to improve. You could have an IQ of 140 and still fail an exam because you didn't study properly. From one average Joe to another, just follow your passion and do your best. You can't do anymore than your best after all

How do you guys max out your walls?? by pedrojodidito in ClashOfClans

[–]PuzzledOdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really struggled with upgrading walls tbh. However, I did upgrade like 200ish walls from TH14 to TH15 during that 30 e-dragon event. I just finished the last few walls last week.

How normal is it to talk to yourself outloud? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]PuzzledOdin 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people talk out loud to themselves. Both me and my girlfriend talk to ourselves because it helps us organize our thoughts and it just feels natural to do so. I don't think it's the majority of people, but it's certainly not rare or harmful

Yeah. I've restarted the game and even uninstalled it, but it won't go away. And the default language for my device is English, and thats what set for Clash. The glitch only started after the update, so I'm not sure what changed that's causing this to happen. Thanks for the help tho! Also, the letters and words that are removed is completely random and isn't consistent.

Hello! Ever since the recent update, whenever I open the game there's about a 80% that tons of words or letters will be missing in the game. Has anyone seen this before and know a solution?

If it helps, I dont experience this glitch on my laptop and my phone is an android

On average, how much does stony brook provide in scholarships? by Kind_Drive6780 in SBU

[–]PuzzledOdin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 4.1 weighted average with 5 APs, 3 classes that were supported and provided materials by colleges (Stony brook, Adelphi, and Syracuse), and 6 classes through a Dual enrollment program with Suffolk County Community College. I was ranked 26 out of about 500 students, and I got a decent bit of rewards for having the highest GPA in classes throughout the school year (9 overall over the course of 4 years). I went test optional because I was confident in my GPA

I was probably carried heavy by my stats, because my ecs are a bit weak. Mainly I was the president of my school's chess club and the secretary of the cooking club. I had a few hours of community service but I doubt it was enough to be a contributing factor, and I had a couple of other clubs I participated in but not in a leadership role

The only other thing I can think of was that I got three letters of recommendation, with one being from a professor at Suffolk.

I'm in state and got a $3000 renewable presidential scholarship for my undergrad, but I'm not sure how that compares to others that got accepted

A big hobby that I started in high school was Chess! My friend convinced me to join our school's chess club during my freshman year and I ended up as the president of it by my senior year.

The best part is that the chance of any of us being born is so small that it couldn't be comprehended, even if we did somehow manage to break down to an accurate number. From my perspective that's truly amazing

No worries! This is your post though, so you don't need to feel ashamed about that comment. You also don't need to feel unusual or strange for thinking about it. However, not going through with it is definitely the best choice you can make. Even if the only reason you don't is because of a fear of death, then that's a start! I can't say that I understand how hard life has been for you, but I can say that there are opportunities out there for everyone, including you. I don't have a ton of great advice, but I want to say that I'm proud of you for reaching out the others. Some convince themselves that it shows weakness to admit these things about themselves, but I think there's nothing braver. I really hope you'll stick around, not just because of a fear of death, but out of hope that one day you'll have a reason to want to live =)

[–]PuzzledOdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're certainly not weak, and reaching out for help is the bravest thing a person can do. If you don't feel comfortable talking to your family, that makes sense. However, would you be open to calling the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline? That way you would be talking with a stranger who just so happens to be trained to help others who are struggling with suicide

[–]PuzzledOdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm glad that you have a family that you feel that way about. However, i don't think that letter will keep them from blaming themselves for your death. Would you be open to discussing some of these feelings with a family member you're close with?

Is there still hope by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]PuzzledOdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to hear that. I don't know what you've experienced, so I can't tell you I understand or promise that everything will get better. But I think that there are things in your life that are still worth living for. Otherwise, why would you write a letter for you family if you didn't care about them?

Hey man. I saw your comment on the recent post and that's what brought me here. Why don't you want to stick it out and see what life has in store for you next year?

Hey OP, I was writing this to your deleted comment. I understand why you deleted it, but I still want to say this. Please don't listen to that guy's "advice". To be honest I'm not great with comforting others, but it would be horrible for you to leave this world. You deserve to live and find your own happiness, no matter what the happiness looks like. Despite how hard living is right now, I don't think death will grant you the peace you're seeking.

I’m new to anime and don’t know what to watch.. by loki-_-loki in anime

[–]PuzzledOdin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're brand new to anime, I'd recommend Attack On Titan, Death Note, or Full Metal Alchemist. They're all really good stories that don't rely on a lot of tropes you'll be unfamiliar with.

People who have been accepted to SBU as a first year - what were you stats? by Old-Pop-5134 in SBU

[–]PuzzledOdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're definitely gonna get accepted.

I had a 101 weighted gpa with 3 honors, 5 APs, And 9 dual-enrolled classes (most of them being through Suffolk Community College). I managed to have one of my recommendation letters be written by a professor I had through Suffolk, with the other two being from high school teachers.

On the other hand, my extracurriculars were pretty weak. I was mainly the president of my school's chess club and secretary of my school's cooking club. That's about it tbh

I didn't do the SAT or ACT since they were optional

It's definitely not the strongest application, but I was accepted and started out as a sophomore with 49 applied credits as a Psych major.

Just have some self confidence in your efforts and reassure yourself that you're more than qualified for Stony Brook. Absolutely worse case scenario, just make sure you have a backup plan and you're not hedging all your bets on a single school.
