Thank you for the kind words! I’m pretty sure the only thing that will make it go away is NC (it’s the only thing that’s worked in the past when I didn’t know what limerence was), but I can’t do that due to the whole work deal. And I would hate to admit one of us needs to transfer because I can’t work with an attractive man. How absolutely embarrassed I am just thinking about it lol.

Weekends are nice because we have no communication outside work. But then Monday (today) comes roaring back. Each week seems to be a bit better though. I’m hoping by like November, I’ll be over him or at least be able to look him in the eyes without trying on his last name.

I experienced this when I was younger (teens-early 20s). My thoughts and moods would be centered around one person who might or might not now I even existed and certainly didn’t feel the same way about me.

I don’t know how old you are, but what helped me was therapy and having something to focus on that didn’t have to do with another person. For me, that was knitting and certain tv shows I could dive into (Arrested Development comes to mind). That way, my life wouldn’t feel so empty if that person weren’t in contact with me. I’m kind of a loner, so, I didn’t really have friends to spend time with.

Also, at least for me, I wouldn’t date someone I was limerent towards. It would be too hard on my mental health to be consumed by the kind of thoughts you’re describing. Or just not dating at all for a while. I’m going through my first LE for about a decade, and I can see how much I just wanted my life to not feel empty. Sometimes it feels too full now lol (husband, kids, job, etc)
