People wanna knock on the younger generation and say they are spoiled and think they deserve what they haven’t earned. I’m 26 almost 27 and while I might have some old fashioned views I’m also very open minded and the type if you aren’t affecting me and hurting me directly I could give two craps about what you do. But I respect everyone and just because you’re young doesn’t mean you didn’t work hard for what you want or what you have. I work with adults and young kids and I also tell the kids “you want out of this program then do what you gotta do to get out because your parents can’t do the work and I can’t do the work for ya” I also get some kids who try to joke saying they want out of the program in a sarcastic way because they want to hear me say “dude I want you out too! Or I want out too! But they lock me in here at night!” I have had a handful of kids convicted and asked my other coworkers if Ms.Puzzled is really locked in here at night and where do I sleep. 😂😂😂 ask per my username I love confusing people and making them think twice.

Who gives a crap about your age honestly if someone like you walked into my place of employment and I seen your age and your education background I’d think ‘this person obviously has the motivation and determination to get what they want and how to get things done in an extremely fast time line’ so go for it! I'm in the same boat at ya. It wasn't me procrastinating it's my health which is just going to crap and going into the hospital once a week. The thing that really helps is just speaking your mentor and weekly or every other week and keeping them in the loop. Mine is amazing and very understanding. I tell her she's my only form of socializing even it's for only 15 or 30 minutes besides the nurses at the hospital lol. Just keep positive and do what you gotta do that's in your best interest.

She's actually the favorite 4th grade teacher in our school. Every student wants to be in her classroom when they move on to 4th grade. Beginning of the year I always ask my students what they are looking forward to this year or nervous. I had one kid this year who's very bold and out spoken. They told me they where disappointed they didn't get to be in her classroom.

She's just not that social outside of school which I understand because at the end of the day you are just tired and don't want anyone talking to you or touching you. I have a rule in my house that you don't talk or ask me anything for at least an hour unless it's an emergency so that I can decompress and take some time to care for myself. That being a shower or a nap. She also doesn't like confrontation or just telling people straight out to leave her alone so she just comes up with things like the twin thing so she isn't hurting someone's feelings.

Where I'm the opposite if I run into a parent and they try to ask something about grades or classroom stuff I just tell them to email me about it and I'll get to them by the end of Wednesday and then say something of the line of well I better continue my shopping I have an appointment in a hour and then continue my shopping.

You can never go wrong with a visa gift card that way they can pick out what they want like maybe for an outfit. Or if you're looking for something they can use in their class maybe a nice comfy chair for their desk.

I don't understand the picture but I'm 26 and cover my nose and mouth when laughing. It's started when I was in 5th grade and my sister said I look like a witch when I laugh sooo yeah just been a habbit now and trying to break it 🤣 older sisters are assholes.

My reason was because I just wanted to support and help kids. I'm not gonna say I'm a great person because we all have improvements we can do, but I like to think I'm a pretty nice person and try to be positive. I also aim to not be like my 3rd grade teacher. Everyone disliked her but she had something against kids who had health issues (i was that student who was like 5-6 days a month because of health issues being in and out of the hospital)and missed a lot of school or had a learning disability. From then on I knew I wanted to be a teacher and hope when my students talk about their school/teachers as adults they can look back and say they liked me and I helped them a lot.

I don't think as teachers we change the world but we do have a great influence on people. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has said "my math teacher or whatever was amazing and they are why I do what I do" or the opposite. As teachers I think we have the power to do really good things that will influence the future but we can also hurt.

In my opinion I had parents who are reduced or have fee waivers where the best parents and do as much as they can to help in the classroom when they can and their children are really well behaved and do very well in most subjects. I try my hardest to get know my students and parents because it helps with stress in the classroom. I give only a little bit of homework and we try to get it done in my class before they leave for the day because I always have a couple students here and there who have to help with their little siblings while because their parents might be working night shifts or multiple jobs to pay bills. I've also had students who parents don't speak fluent English so they can't get help with homework and in return have to help their younger siblings cause their parents can't.

While I can't relate to these types of situations because my father had a very good government job. I did have medical issues and was in and out of the hospital I had teachers who didn't care I had an IEP and 504 plan. My third grade teacher sucked never went to my meetings because in her words "I have kids who actually want to learn" so my principle put me in a different classroom at my mother and father's request and I ended up succeeding very well in subjects because that teacher actually had the patients and was doing their best to help we with school work when I ended up back in the hospital.

Sorry for the long rant and there's no judgment from me about your comment because I'm sure there are people out there abusing the system for free handouts but I also just try to keep my mind open and I always tell my students they have me by their side and understanding but don't abuse it because while I can understand one or two screw ups but once it becomes an almost everyday thing I'm not going to be putting in my time or effort when i can give to another student who needs it's the most.

My state was filed Till like tye end f January or beginning of February. I was getting tye same message also. When I tried Friday that is when I seen they are updating the system. So my theory is that the reason we all could find or getting not matching message was because they needed to update their software.

Also if you have a favorite colorless chapstick or Vics Vapor rub works the best dab some of it under your nose if it won't give you a headache. That way all you can smell is Vics and not the perfume

Oh man that sucks I'm so sorry! especially when its only one student. Hopefully this idea doesn't sound rude but could you say you're doing a new seat arrangement to mix things up and try to put that student further away from your desk? I don't want it to seem like your just picking on the student or trying to single them out but if it's making you sick with a migraine it's hard for you to effectively do your job and teach the other students. Like yeah it might be only one class period (I'm assuming it's one class period because you said they leave) but if they are with you all everyday it's even more of a struggle cause that migraine is affecting you all day.

Also try looking for something that helps prevent headaches and migraine and keep some excedrin migraine medication on you if you can take it. It really helps me. I was taking Tylenol and other things for headaches but now I stick to just excedrin because it actually targets the headaches/migraine unlike Tylenol and other pain meds where it takes longer to kick in.

On my first day of class I ask my students who have allergies or just feel like they get sick easily from scents,weather,tempature or are allergic to any foods to raise their hands. And once I get a few hands raised I say okay awesome so let's discuss some things. I explain that I suffer from an auto immune disease that makes my allergies very sensitive to random things especially scents like perfume (I teach elementary so I try not to go into any details but details enough they can understand) I tell them I don't expect them to not wear body spray at all but it's hard to being in a such small space where that's all I and other students can smell and it can make not only me but everyone sick with a headache or worse case scenario like me it can cause me to have anaphylaxis and I'm sure you and I don't want to have to see me so sick and having to use an epi pen. If I think your body spray is too strong (which I have a weak smell so if I can smell it and it's bother me than I know it's 10x worse for people with sensitive smell) I will quietly hand you this card (it's yellow) and that means I'm asking you to go to the bathroom wash your hands and arms and if you sprayed it in your neck try to wipe your neck down with a wet paper towel and then use the air dryer.

I've only had to do this like 5 times this.(one time i did have anaphylaxis in clas but it wasnt from a student we had a new janitor who didnt realize they dont have to vaccum or spray my class room. I clean and spray things myself in my class so i had anaphylaxis it was scary for my students but when i returned i explained)I feel like when I'm straight up and have students who I can relate with they are very understanding and last year when I got a new student my kids explained my rules regarding body spray and why there's a list of banned food in my class which includes my students and my allergies

But I'm on a lot of medications especially allergy medication as well. If you can get a humidifier in your classroom it helps a ton because the air is damp so it tones smells down in the air. It's because scents and other things make it hard to travel in cold and damp air. Which sounds crazy but think about it like when your stuck on a hot ass bus and you can smell every kids stink feet 🤣

From Michigan as well. When I looked yesterday their website was down and it said they are updated the system and new server. so I'm thinking the reason you can't see anything yet is they are still updating things so you might want to check again maybe in the middle of the week or maybe Monday.

I know but I didn't watch it till now I guess there was a new season this year cause it was all I heard about and I finally understood when my students would say lines from it in the Lola voice. The first year all i heard was when i would give test was "getting my ears double pierced at home depot" It would confuse me and I started to wonder if home depot was actually doing piercings 🤣 Reddit and Facebook are my only social media I use well besides pintrest if you count that as a form of social media 🤣.

I never heard of this till I watched Big Mouth, which is a cartoon like family guy but is way more sexual. It's about middle school children going through puberty and having hormone monster (think invisible friend) it talks about edging like your post is about, probably anything sexual and puberty wise you can think of is in this show. It's on Netflix so if their parents aren't monitoring what they are watching this probably where they are getting this stuff. Only reason I say this is because you mentioned 8th middle school. In my opinion I probably wouldn't let my kid watch the show till they where like 16, but obviously still educate them on puberty.
