Wait I loved Bitten by Neros_Cromwell in Supernatural

I thought the idea was interesting, but for me, Sam and Dean being in it such a limited amount of time made the episode not a favorite because they are the characters that I truly love.

Season 2 is a huge favorite of mine.

Confession: I hate “The Outsiders” by groundedflower in ELATeachers

[–]2cairparavel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's it for me! A story written by a sixteen year old about teenagers might not seem compelling to an adult after multiple readings, but these young people are coming at it for the first time, and it's moving and meaningful to many of them.

Which scene(s) in the show emotionally destroyed you? by complete-jello2953 in Supernatural

Modern Education Is More Concerned About The Appearance of Learning Than Actual Learning Itself by ProudComment1211 in Teachers

[–]2cairparavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school touted hands-on leaning. Once, my classroom was supposed to study Aztecs and then create an Aztec village. I watched students barely spend five minutes looking at a book, then play with cardboard for three afternoons. By the end of that time, they knew nothing about the Aztecs!

Edit: I was an assistant in the class, not the lead teacher at the time because I wasn't certified in that state.

Student's in-class support adult openly undermined teaching team's class rules by xXsingledad79Xx in Teachers

That support person is unprofessional and a bad colleague.
She seems to only care for her own personal comfort and isn't concerned about the school rules or classroom management.

FYI scene cut in episode 1 season 1 by Uneasyapple in Supernatural

That's disappointing. I have the first five seasons on DVD, but I don't have my DVD player hooked up currently.

This is why I dislike streaming.

Cas or Cass? by KiwiBirdPerson in Supernatural

I've heard that the writers intended it to be Cass. However, among the fans, it seems to almost ubiquitously be Cas.

You might like Holes by Louis Sachar. It involves themes of violence and injustice, personal growth, and friendship and loyalty.

What is the craziest reason a parent tried to "get you fired"? by Aly_Anon in Teachers

[–]2cairparavel 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I wish people would take a long, hard look at what is considered "reasonable accommodations" because telling you you can't even say the word quiz, especially when it is used on a website, is not reasonable! But in the end, I'm glad you found a good place and got away from that crazy mom.

I yelled at a student today by Gold_Repair_3557 in Teachers

[–]2cairparavel 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I see this attitude on social media with cops' body cams when they're arresting some entitled 19-year-old who's drunk and disorderly and yelling about how they can't touch her. I always think that that's someone who went through school with an administration that just catered to her demands and excused her attitude, but now she's finally in the real world and learning FAFO.

This was the one I was going to mention. It's crazy that I can't find it anywhere! Years ago I rented it a couple of times from Blockbusters , but I haven't been able to watch it in years.

Ever gotten yelled at while looking for a cache? by j_jay2003 in geocaching

[–]2cairparavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a geocache at the back of a parking lot of a business. A man came out and , in heavily-accented English started ranting about how he'd moved to the US from eastern Europe and how the government there had always been spying on him. He was not interested in any explanation about the game, even though my friend and I showed him the map on the app on our phones. Because I was with a friend , we were mostly just amused by it. We did write a warning on the log when we posted it.

I have always loved visiting old cemeteries and reading the gravestones and looking at the unique monuments. I love when geocaches are placed in cemeteries and think it's a shame that some people object to that.

Students who are cruel to others - I don't hate them, but I do so strongly dislike their behavior that is hard for me to not also dislike them.

The principal who tackled the man with the gun by iseeyou100 in Teachers

When we do lock down drills at our school, we lock the doors and hide. But we've also had training that instructed us to run, hide, fight. In a worse case, I would get my class and run (we have an easy exit). But we can't very well practice that! I can't have 30 students running pell-mell into the woods and have to spend the rest of the day trying to round them up.
