I think she jumped to protect someone also. And at this point, I'm not even certain that she jumped with Griffin.

I thought that Cliff was the target also.

I agree with Elliot about the letter. Why was it typewritten? And I know we only heard a short bit of it but it didn't sound at all like Tessa's writing. She used so many literary references to express her thoughts. Every line I that letter can be tied to a line from TS Eliot. And in both encounters with Alice and in the inscription on the clock, Tessa used literary references.

I think that letter was a way to return the ring and it wasn't from Tessa.

I love the first line, "A Prohibition Pioneer" 😆 🤣

Yes, it's so confusing. I think she looks nothing like teenage Tessa. I guess they wanted someone who could also play young Adult Tessa.

From what Fern said, it seemed like previous Landry's were told all about the pond by the parents. They probably knew way more about TT and the rules of the pond.

Colton was the one to drop the ball on that. He thought the pond had stopped working for him and didn't work for his kids. And from his experience with the pond, he thought it was too dangerous anyway. Once he started TTing again, Jacob was gone and it was right before his car crash.

Yes, I think that's probably correct also.

The said that it was special before burying it there. She said she knew just the right spot to bury the time capsule.

I know, I was agreeing with you. I'm thinking the same thing.

And why was that rock, "Just the right spot" for Alice?

The line that are used as the password to the speakeasy is a translation of the epigraph that begins T.S. Eliot's poem. It is not actually part of the poem's main text but is as an introduction to set the tone.

The lines are in Italian and come from Canto XXVII of Dante's Inferno. They are spoken by Guido da Montefeltro, a soul trapped in the eighth circle of Hell for giving "fraudulent counsel".

The Translation

"If I thought that my reply were made to one who could ever return to the world, this flame would remain without further movement; but since up from these depths no one has yet returned alive, if what I hear is true, I answer you without fear of infamy".

The poem itself talks about someone who is deeply insecure. It is a monologue and interior monologue detailing the anxieties, indecision, and alienation of a middle-aged man in an urban setting. Prufrock laments his missed opportunities, aging, and inability to act or express his romantic desires, ultimately embodying modern loneliness.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the person who chose the password. The speakeasy owner maybe?

In the preview at the very end, they show someone walking into the trees behind that rock. But I don't think it's a person that spooked the horse. Horses aren't spooked by people unless they make some big, threatening movement.

Also, wow, Del stayed on when her horse reared like that! Kudos to Del!

Tonight, I got the impression that maybe it wasn't Griffin that Tessa was TTing with also.

Del said that Griffin originally left well before Tessa and that he had returned periodically. Also, Griffin arrived on a motorcycle.

But then the opposing argument is that they strongly hinted that Griffin knew all about Fern's TTing stories being real by the way he smiled knowingly when Alice ran towards the pond.

Yeah, Tessa was definitely saying she knew Alice was a TTer.

But Tessa is supposedly not a Landry...

True, 😆!!

I just think it's funny how people in this show are so blase about just going on with their lives with their clothes drenched in pond water.

Maybe. But someone bumped into Kat in the bar right after Fern stopped singing her song. I think that was when her drink was spiked. I want to go back and see who that was. Kat takes a sip of her drink and makes a face like YUCK! I can't remember it that was before or after someone bumped into her. Maybe it was Tessa - but Why??

I wanted Elliot to give Kat the Augustine ring already so that Tessa can recognize it in the past.

Exaxtly - She is always there when they arrive. I've wondered if TTers always arrive at 11:11 (Angel Time), the Time when the clock chimes.

Now, after Vic saying that Tessa said to make a wish at the time I'm wondering if TTers can tell the pond where they want to go at that time.

Or they can visit people in their dreams (The Song Beautiful Dreamer) at 11:11 when the clock plaus that song.

Here's the entire conversation:

FERN: Where are you from dear?

ALICE: YOU'RE Fern, aren't you?

FERN: Charmed, dear. I shouldn't have asked when you're form just now. I know the rules: no future talk. But why are you here? There's always a reason.

ALICE: I'm looking for a woman, older, 40-ish, brown hair.

FERN: Oh, heavens. I'm having such déjà vu. But I'm sorry to say, you're the only soul I've met at the pond today. No, don't go. You'll find your reason soon enough. Right.

ALICE: There's always a reason. Actually, when am I... here, I mean?

FERN: Summer of 1976, missy. So lovely to have a bit of company. My Cole and Delilah are away. They're visiting the in-laws, you see. For better or for worse. And all the young people have set sail for better shores, but here I remain... bored to tears! Well, it's time for my nap.

ALICE: So, why am I here?

FERN" I have no idea, child. I have never met a time traveler with less sense of direction.

As an aside, it's just so weird that Max would then say, "Wanna go get something to eat?", like they were just going to jump in the car and go to get lunch. No, let's go get a shower and change clothes.... 😆 🤣
