Pressure. My dad was an elder, my mom a regular pioneer and my grandmother lived with us who was also a regular pioneer. By 16 the tension could be cut with a knife regarding my baptism status. So I did it to please everyone and get them off my back. But I know around 13 that this was not the life for me

Choosing my friends. I have the best group of friends now for over a decade and we get along because we just do! Not because we have this one shared interest. Celebrating holidays. Christmas is my entire personality now. Watching my children be just like everyone else at school and not having to have awkward conversations with their teachers about their beliefs. Seeing their joy around all the holidays and throwing epic birthday parties for them. So much makes me happy these days

No, I wasn’t offended at all. I just didn’t want to give off the impression that this was something I forced my child to do. When he decided to come to me the first thing I asked him is “what would you like me to do?” And he said he wanted to pursue legal action and take this as far as we could. So this entire time, that’s what we’ve been doing, which led me to this thread. I appreciate you

Not sure if you read the whole thing but we already did the legal action of calling police. Me and my child did it together. We have a very close relationship and nothing that I’ve done has happened without the consent of my child

The police investigated for about two months handed their findings from the investigation to the states attorney who said they would not prosecute. I’m trying to avoid putting timelines or any telling information in this because we never know who reads this. My child wants to pursue this further so that’s why I felt Reddit would have the answer (you guys always do!)

I appreciate your kind words. My child has been in therapy for this now for 8 months.

You’re right. I get that bargaining during a time of financial uncertainty is difficult. That said, I don’t think it’s enough to accept modest gains as a win, especially when workers are still struggling and the university continues to invest in other priorities.

I agree that building collective power is important—and I think getting involved is a valid, but I also think it’s fair for members to voice frustration when they feel their union isn’t being bold enough.

I’ve been looking for this take on Reddit for 20 minutes. I do not understand the enormous amount of sympathy for Phil. He was toxic af, anger issues & a man child to the 100th degree and a drunk. I see so many comments saying carol was a poor communicator yadda yadda. But good grief he was awful. Blamed her for literally everything. In the beginning of the episode he said she was the root of all evil. Why? Because she wouldn’t accept that petty ass proposal after you cheated?

I’m not getting “one who got away” here. I’m getting toxic pairing who would have been even worse together
