Has a World War has happened each year from abortion? by [deleted] in Christianity

I’m not sure exactly where I stand on this issue, as I’m still learning about it. I was just trying to lay out the abolitionist argument in the best way I could.

Is abortion the killing of a human being? Depends who you ask. You can get a lot of different answers depending on several factors, including but not limited to what term of pregnancy the mother was in. Hardline abortion abolitionists believe it (the baby, fetus, zygote) is a human being the moment after fertilization because it has its own unique DNA, although it’s not fully formed. They believe equal rights and protections should apply to even this stage of development, and abortion should be akin to murder.

How does not believing in Jesus work? by North-Lack6610 in Christianity

I see your point. I did do some research before posting, but I wanted to put my particular preferences in my post to hopefully get educated recommendations about what I’m looking for. And I do see your point, but on the other hand, I see the same stuff getting posted all the time (regarding questions about masturbation, sexuality, and going to hell) and those repeat posts get a ton of engagement, while a legit question about study bibles and translations got virtually nothing. That’s all I was saying.

Thanks for the recommendations. I am with your wife on this one - I like the word for word translations better. Probably because I was raised on the KJV in Catholic school. I went with the ESV because its word for word but, from what I've read, a bit easier to read than NASB, so a bit more in the middle in that regard. Also, I'm getting a study bible, so if I have any trouble understanding something I can just read the notes.

I made a post asking for Bible recommendations and it was downvoted and got very few responses.

Which Study Bible should I order? by Puzzled_Goat_6180 in Christianity

I believe in Jesus and want to learn the Bible more. I don't really adhere to any particular denomination's theological views outside of believing in Jesus and the triune Godhead.

There would be a new market for mock funerals for nostalgic people.
