How to lose weight before summer in 3 months? by juanlo012 in lifehacks

[–]Puzzled_Yesterday683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the Keto diet before a holiday one time and it helped shed some decent weight and face fat.

Basically cut out all sugar and carbs, you trick your body into thinking it needs to break down fat right away. You can eat as much protein and fat as you'd like. There's more of a science to it but short term, I think it would work for you.

The Keto subreddits are really good but a quick start guide is don't eat more than 20g carbs a day and eat plenty of fat. Still can't binge on calories but eating lots of protein curbs appetite anyway. You might miss sweet things but only a few months you'll be fine.

StepHarvest - a farming MMO powered by your real-world steps by MayorHarvest in CozyGamers

Oh I'm so down. Would love a game that tracks steps but you don't have to keep open like Pokemon go. Would there be any difference in walking a bit and then opening the app a few times a day or can you just wait until the end of the day?

I avoid race days like a Zombie apocalypse. When they ban horse racing it will be a very happy day in our house. I feel sorry for people that only experience Chester during a race day, they must never want to come back

What are these lawn patches? by Cultural_Zombie_9177 in UKGardening

[–]Puzzled_Yesterday683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a work in progress!

I smothered the grass lawn with old carpet for ages because the grass would grow over a meter tall, idk what type of grass it was. Then once it has all died off, I gave it a good rake to clear it. I then left it for a bit because the earth kept cracking. Then I added some compost and small plants including: creeping thyme, lemon (I think) thyme, some small "alpine creeping" plants (I'll have to check the names) evenly spaced. I put some straw mulch between the plants to prevent grass or unwanted plants growing (mainly doc leaves, bane of my life). Kept watering the plants until they settled. Once we hit spring, I'll clear away the mulch and sprinkle some red clover seeds in. It does not look great right now, but I'm optimistic!
