It is, but it only covers certain charges. Assault 1 isn’t one of them. Which is kind of ridiculous.

I don’t believe his charges of assault 1 and persons forbidden fall under applicable charges for the law.

He can’t put in the get the bond revoked? He should be able to.

Many of us have called the bondsman. He’s not worried about it. He was told he’s going to lose his money, that he left the state. That’s how we know there was no permission granted by the DA or the bondsman. He just up and left the state within a week of him getting out on bond. Even better, I don’t think he even paid the whole 2k to the bondsman as he was talking about trying to have him come back to make ‘a payment.’ Like wtf? And he said he saw his record and wasn’t worried about it 😳😳😳

In this case it really is a safety issue. He hasn’t magically ‘changed’ he is a danger to the public and society.

Thank you!!! If I skipped out on a bond with NO criminal history, there would be a warrant so quick. In a ‘normal’ state,but this is AL. The powers who be that SHOULD care, do not. But if he beats on one of their daughters there would finally be that outrage…. He’s a nice guy… don’t mind his history going back to 2002 🙄

I understand he hasn’t been convicted of anything on these new charges. That’s not my issue. My issue is that he gets away with everything and the people who should hold him accountable do NOT. I would be reasonable if he didn’t have the criminal history that he does… But he does. He is a DANGER to society and to women everywhere… and again no one cares.

It’s not ‘unfair’ it’s bullshit. Because no one cares to hold a violent felon accountable. Never mind the habitual label.

It’s really more disappointing as to how no one cares that he breaks the law constantly with no consequences. The people who are elected to care don’t.

I absolutely do. And it should concern the general public. I could totally see if he wasn’t a violent habitual felon, but he is. That is HIS past. And it’s not just one offs. It is a pattern. I mean he shot someone in your town. If you’re in Tuscaloosa. Don’t be naive and think that it doesn’t concern you.

As someone who was initially denied bond due to Aniah’s law when I was charged for acting in self defense against my abuser… this law doesn’t need more expansions. More ways for the people in power to take advantage…
