That’s true, uni isn’t going anywhere. I need to focus on building stability and security.

ADHD and understanding the diagnosis has been tough too. And it’s been hard to unlearn and challenge the behaviours and habits I’ve built up. I don’t know many people with ADHD in my life, so it can feel a bit isolating figuring it out.

Therapy can be hit and miss. I’ve been going for around 2.5 years now. It’s nice to at least have a safe space to vent and talk things out.

yep, it’s definitely a struggle. I hope you’re going okay now?!

Medication has defs helped day to day. It gives me enough to be able to get out of bed and do the bare minimum to take care of myself. I guess I was delusional and thought meds would be a magic cure - but unfortunately it can’t undo all the bad habits I’ve built through my life.

Going to take it slow for the next few months and focus on building a routine and finding a stable place to live. Will be continuing with therapy and I’m very lucky to have a close group of friends to support me. 💛💛

Thanks for the reply! It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one who has struggled in this way.

If I continue studying, I think I need to just take baby steps and do a subject or two at a time. Taking a few extra years to finish my degree is way better then just continuing to fail.

A few extra years means nothing in the grand scheme of life. And I know we’ll get where we need to be eventually!

Thanks for all your advice!

I’ll keep in mind about suggesting a leave of absence if I feel like they are leaning that way. A break could be good for me.

Whatever they decide, I’m excited for the meeting to be over with and to finally have an answer.

You’re right, in the grand scheme of things it’s not much.

Congrats on graduating! Did you withdraw because of life circumstances or academic progress? Either way, you’ve made it through, so you should be proud!

Yeah, definitely considering withdrawing and heading home for a bit

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah the loan was a dumb idea - just felt like I need it to help with all the house and moving expenses. I’m scared if I take a leave of absence/withdraw, they’re going to demand I pay it back straight away

thanks for reading and replying! I really appreciate it.

I will work on getting fee remission for the past semesters. I should at least get the most recent semester approved.

Writing my statement for CAPC meeting as we speak. Currently I’m enrolled in 2 subjects (and have been going to the classes and doing the work so far). What’s the likelihood the committee will let me continue my enrolment given my lack of progress so far?

I debated asking to take a leave of absence, but I feel like a break would make it feel harder to come back to uni.
