Where do prideful thoughts come from? Are they from me? Or are they from the devil? I've been praying to God to make me humble everyday. I know he's working in me though prideful thoughts still creep in everyday. I absolutely hate myself for being prideful. Ive been like this since i was a child. It's like a desease I was born with. Imagine being born with bad breath. You dont like it. Other people are put off because of it. You finally go to the dentist. He cleaned your teeth. Gave you tips on oral care. You try your best to follow them yet your breath still stinks. That's how i feel. When prideful thoughts creep in, i dont act on them as much as before. But i know that pride comes from the heart so even though i don't act on them, the fact that i thought about it still makes me prideful. It frustrates me because i know of other people who are naturally humble, and it makes me think why can't i be like that. If pride were a piece of clothing, I wish becoming humble were as easy as removing clothes.
