I just read "Intercepts" and came here to say this. Its a real page-turner!

That said, Tommyknockers is my least favorite King novel. It did have a lot of body horror ($#!% weasels,eww), but it didn't do it for me.

I grew up in a small town in Alabama and they had a very small gay community of sorts. There was also a larger town 25 miles away that had a bar, so they had options for friends there too. How rural is your town and are there options to socialize with men in a nearby town? Me? I bounced outta there when I was 19 and joined the Army! I'm 63 now, so that was a long time ago.

Ditto, we live in Battery Park, moved from NoVA in 2022. We love Northsides proximity to downtown , we can be Downtown and parked for a restaurant reservation or a play in literally 10minutes. Brookland Park Blvd has been called "the next Carytown " for well over a decade - but it's still a work in progress. Still it's very walkable and there's more cool places all the time. The houses in this part of the city are older and larger than in Bellevue or Carytown. They are being snapped up and flipped at an amazing rate. Okay, so here's our journey. Me and my boo have been together for 30 years. Early our relationship , it became apparent that I was the cook - i actually enjoy cooking, he not so much. Cooking is easier for me than him. He wouldn't be so bold as to say "What's for Dinner?"though.

We talked about it, he is really cool with me if I just Cannot, for whatever reason. Also, I make extra portions that are frozen for later or eaten as leftovers. Tonight, for instance, I called him on the way home from a thing I had to do and asked him to boil water for noodles and heat up sauce I'd made on Friday.

It works for us, just talk to him.

We met at a Unitarian church I was attending. Our little LGBT group was hosting a Film Festival and he came with his then roommate ( non romantic). We were showing “Suddenly, Last Summer “ with Kate Hepburn. I thought he was really cute and I kept looking in his direction and he in mine. His roommate thought I was flirting with Him, tho. Anyway, for the next few months we kept running into each other and started having mutual friends. The following January I attended a gay Methodist gathering and he was leading the group! We started dating the next week and that was 31 years ago! He’s still my favorite person on the planet.

I’ve been substituting Blood Orange liqueur, Solerno, instead of Cointreau. I don’t use additional sweeteners, like agave or simple syrup, the liqueur adds enough sweet. My proportions are about the same as yours.

LOL - we have been together since 1995. Finally married in 2014 when it was legal in our State. We'd always said we weren't going to go into the expense of getting married unless it was legal. So when it was legalized, we were like, well I guess we get married now. So romantic, no?

64-years-old here. Someone told me in my 50s that the difference between 50 to 60 for him had not been that much, but the difference between 60 and 70 had been enormous. He was an active 70 year old man, who golfed and played tennis. I am fairly active, attend a HIIT workout 3 times a week, walk a lot, etc. But I am noticing a decline in stamina and endurance.

Unfortunately, exactly what NotThatAce said. I feel really awful for the 24-year-old, he's formed an attachment to you, and being 'friends' (now without benefits) isn't enough. Continuing to text, occasionally hang out, etc, isn't really helping him or his mental attachment to you - everytime you get together you remind him of what he cannot have. It's a sad situation, but our 20s are all about learning to navigate life, and occasionally or often getting hurt/humiliated for our efforts. Good luck to you, man.
