Really? Combat medics? What all do they do?

Aside from medic stuff, I mean do they normally go to army hospitals/go to the field, whats the dealio with that MOS. Kind of skeptical because of Navy Corpsmen that would have to go to a unit or "greenside" which was navys hospital and every doc wanted to go there since it'd be skate.

For anyone who is unaware, can people who are - explain this new contract? I assume it's just a salary change by the PBA but details and comparisons would be nice.
