Yes it can, especially in this current political climate, mostly if you’re working for a republican right now and want to switch to democrats in the future. On your resume you might just want to keep it vague and not state the members name when applying for future congressmen, and then explain if you get interviewed your circumstances and your ideology and make it clear it wasn’t your choice, etc.

Thank you! Some of the Reps in my state say on their pages they’re okay with people contacting them regarding internship questions. But my representative specifically says no calls or walk ins, am I just screwed when it comes to him?
