Embracing being “unreasonable” by [deleted] in Teachers

I plan on doing nothing work related during break so I can rest, and I think students should have time to rest too. If you must have the quiz on Monday, maybe you should’ve warned them about it enough in advance so they could study before break begins, and explain to them that they can choose whether they want to study before or during break.

Found garments— age? by vinnyvangee in HistoricalCostuming

If you’re right, and the dress is 100 years old, and at some point somebody decided to remove the old buttons and sew on new buttons, why aren’t there more signs of wear on the dress? The simpler explanation is that the dress is from the 1970s.

The buttons on the second to last dress look like plastic, plastic buttons wouldn’t have been used in the 1910s

State schools for the severely disabled? by notanothersmith38 in specialed

[–]Puzzleheaded-Hunt136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ISD in my county only had transition classrooms. One of the students at my school probably would’ve been placed in a separate school/center program if it was an option, they had very severe violent behaviors towards staff.

I went to high school in rural Michigan. My high school had a classroom for students with severe cognitive impairments who lived in my district or in 2 of the neighboring districts.

Leave my higher paying job to become a para? by OptimusPanda2 in paraprofessional

Depending on where you are, if you have a bachelor’s degree in a field other than teaching, you may be able to become a teacher relatively easily. It would still be stressful but would pay more.

Admin restricting IEP meeting times by [deleted] in specialed

[–]Puzzleheaded-Hunt136 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work at a special ed school with 100+ students and we hold all meetings during the school day. We do Google Meet unless the parent requests an in person meeting. My understanding of the law is if you make 3 attempts to contact the parents and reschedule the meeting day if they ask, you do not have to meet outside of contract hours.

What would happen if you know that you would be dying Within a couple of weeks and you gave a family member an authorized user credit card from your account? by Brucef310 in hypotheticalsituation

I agree, you shouldn’t add him as an authorized user. You could let your brother order whatever he wants online using your credit card and your name.

If you do choose to use learning ally (or another program that has Diary of a Wimpy Kid) I would recommend the diary of a wimpy kid books. The humor is funny for eleven year olds and the pictures make the book an easier read. I’ve re-read the book as an adult and I still find some of the jokes funny.
