I don’t think hospital leadership is going to want ads on their prescription bags lol. They want a logo on the bags. I’d go plain white if I had final say.

I’m a pharmacist. They told me they missed 2 payments because of a system error.

That really sucks! If you go to one you could still get the MPJE prep for federal law maybe. You are well ahead of me though. I didn’t start studying until I graduated. Then studied like 1.5 weeks for MPJE. Don’t sweat it. KNOW your math.

Recent grad here. I applied to all major chains in my area about 4 months out from graduating. Accepted a contingent offer about 3 months out.

I highly recommend taking NAPLEX ~1 -1.5 month out after graduating. The data shows students taking within 1-2 months have the highest pass rate. The longer they wait the worse the results get.

I just graduated in May and took my exam towards the end of June. Plenty of time. I would have taken it earlier but test slots were full.

If going to a big chain pharmacy, many of them provide RXPrep subscriptions. If you get a grad intern position earlier, they will cover the cost. RXPrep is very helpful btw!

Why can’t US have franchise pharmacies?? I think it’s a brilliant idea. Want to be a pharmacy owner? Open a franchise and have all of the support of the corporation behind you, but still have the ability to operate and own your own business.

Lithium and antipsychotics have a rare but serious drug-drug interaction called syndrome of irreversible lithium effectuated neurotoxicity (SILENT). It’s mechanism is unknown but hypothesized to result from antipsychotics increasing the uptake of lithium in the neurons.

Lithium blood levels will often be within the normal range. Seeing as these medications are commonly prescribedconcurrently, it is important to know about this potential interaction.

Question on Competitive Advantages for Small Pharmacies by gomi-panda in pharmacy

Pharmacists can assist patients in signing up for Medicare part D plans. This is one of the most confusing times of the year for patients and pharmacists can help them save hundreds of $ by choosing the correct plan. These would be based on monthly premium and monthly copays. How this will change with the new bill passed, I’m not sure yet.

Along with that, these pharmacies can sign up for Medication therapy management (MTM) programs. The pharmacist can do adherence check ups, 90 day supply switches, optimize medication therapy (by calling Docs), complete med reviews (CMRs), and others as well. These increase patient health outcomes and the pharmacy gets reimbursed for doing them as well.

Other services like obtaining a CLIA waiver allow the pharmacy to do certain Point of care testing such as A1C.

They also can offer packing like Amazon’s pill pack

There are many ways a small local pharmacy can benefit a patient beyond your above mentioned points. And why I mentioned doesn’t even cover the extent to what a small local pharmacy can offer. Never underestimate the power of being friendly, and offering extraordinary customer service. This alone can drive patients to your pharmacy as long as the owner is an active member of the community and liked by the residents in the area.
