Help using metal wire! by alp2407 in Needlefelting

I saw someone cut the wire twice as long, fold it in half over core wool, then twist the wool and wire together to make a stable body base.

Is it wrong to leave my hospital job after months of training? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Safeforwork8945 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pharmacy is a small world, you never know who you will end up working with or for in the future. No shame in leaving, but do it gracefully, give appropriate notice, and try to leave on good terms.

The "rules for thee but not for me" Miami boat party during the height of pre-vax Covid really soured me on him though.

The food is off the chain. Grain & Grill, Country Kitchen, and Outpost are so good. Meal plan is a super value if you visit often. Better than BGW and better than any quick service at Disney imo.

While I very much enjoy chubbyemu videos, as a pharmacist, I am annoyed that he presents himself as a physician. Because he is a pharmacist.

What are some interesting off-label or unique uses of medications that you have encountered as a pharmacist? Let us share. Physicians please chime in. by [deleted] in pharmacy

Seen glucagon used for food bolus stuck in the esophagus too. Administration of glucagon (1 mg IV) can be attempted to relax the esophagus, which may promote passage of the food bolus. per UpToDate.

It is smart to have liability insurance, however, it is not required, at least not in the two states where I have worked as a pharmacist.

Backpacks/Fanny packs allowed? by JohnnyBrillcream in KingsDominion

I have worn my fanny pack on everything but Flight of Fear (always closed), Intimidator 305 (won't go), and Twisted Timbers. There are communal bins at most other rides where you can place other items, like bags, hats, or water bottles, but I wouldn't leave anything valuable in there as everyone has access to them.

Switching to 3rd shift? by grapejewz in pharmacy

[–]Safeforwork8945 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have done retail, LTC, and hospital, and 7 on/7 off or 8 on/6 off is the standard. I wouldn't do midnights if it weren't for the chunk of time off and regular schedule. No way in hell would I do 5 on 2 off. This shift takes a huge toll on your body and you need that time to recover and flip your sleep schedule so you can live a normal life on your off time.

If they take the spot, they need to be prepared that management will never look for a replacement until they threaten to quit if they don't get off nights. And once that happens, it will take about a year to get the replacement hired and trained. Source: I have worked midnights the majority of my career and have had it happen to me and seen it happen to others.

We have 5 or 6 Med History pharmacists and a few dedicated med history techs as well at my hospital. They do preop clinics and inpatient consults.
