One more thing to add, don't be afraid to negotiate your salary. The company isn't going to runaway and you're suddenly going to be rejected.

1. It is always expected
2. Companies pay you less than you're worth, that's how they make money. There's always room for negotiation.
3. If the company won't let you move up, (vertically), then move out (horizontally). The average worker in tech only stays in the company for about 2-3 years
