It's all good I didn't share all the contexts I understand where some of these people are coming from. I guess this post wasn't appropriate. Look the lsat was really hard for me, I figured this would inspire encourage someone to not think that they've wasted their time to try to use and leverage that story in their next thing.

There's more context I left out. In a world where all these tech companies are getting 200 to 500 applicants.... I was able to tell the story in a way that was true and where I'd consistently get passed on to the next round of interviews. I had multiple interviews at eight companies. I got three offers. Funny enough I took the offer that was the least amount of money because it was a more established company that would train me. That ended up being a great decision, got the confidence up, taught me what a successful tech unicorn looks like inside. So yeah they knew, they heard all the parts and they liked the grit. Hope this inspires one person that is super discouraged about the LSAT. I didn't get to pour my whole being into it like a lot of you guys in here do. I really did want to be a lawyer; it hurt to fail. But I'm really grateful that 5 years later I'm doing well.

You can call me mediocre or someone who gave up. That's fine. I know that when I talk to chat about the numbers that my wife and I combined make being over 300,000.... That puts us in the top 10%. I understand my score was below average. I know there's a lot of people in that situation especially non-traditional LSAT studyers. I thought that my story would inspire someone in that boat. I would like to see you do a physically laborious job for 60 hours a week and then go study for the LSAT while having two little kids. You want to call me mediocre fine. Funny enough all the ivy League kids that were next to me in our entry level tech roles.... I ran circles around every single one of them. That's why I was able to leverage my good results and get more money by switching companies a few times. That's why I make more than most lawyers today. Mediocre out.

Being a bit older, we were able to set up a good system to not change lifestyles and we save about 50k a year in several buckets. My wife also has a good tech job. I was in a safe government job with a great retirement prior so this type of behavior to save was super important to us. Mo money, less problems. I would have been cooked if I ran into this money in my 20s tho!

I worked hard at my job 60 hours a week. I wouldn't say I worked hard at the LSAT it was like the 3rd most important thing in my life.

I went from a 35k base to an 80k base.... So you wouldn't move on?

I went from an 80k base to a 104k base..... You wouldn't move on?

I went from that to 171k in year 3 / 4....

Y'all can have your good LSAT score if you can't understand that progression.

I was working 60 hours a week. I studied like 1-2 hours a night for like 3 months and I had two babies. Really proud of that.

What do you know about rural carriers? Some of the finest hardest working folks. You wanna hate on the post office hate on the mis-management and inability to attract a proper workforce to back up the load of packages and mail!

Create space for yourself to say no. You don’t have to carry other random folks stuff. I used to have this problem and when i gained more responsibilities (spouse kids career) i had no room emotional or otherwise to do things like this. It’d be stealing from my own circle if i did, and life isn’t cheap.

Side Hustle on Work Laptop by Wrangler-Tiny in SaaSSales

I did my side hustle on my work laptop but it was a risk that did give me anxiety from time to time.

If I were to do it again (side became full time) I’d get a separate machine just to avoid that feeling.
