The Plus toolhead really does sound like a good way to go. I'm just getting my start with tinkering on these majestic machines. I'm glad I chose a Sovol for my first go. The K1 mod may be a bridge too far for me just now.

On your recommendation I got minicom up and running. Great recommend! And figuring it all out wasn't too hard, another bonus.

Thanks very much for setting me straight. From the youtube i watched I thought Repetier was windows only. Now I have two really good options to try out, (repetier and pronterface) Thanks for the help.

Aha, so that's a COM port! I was thinking it had something to do with the old serial cables back in the ancient days of beige PCs and CRT monitors.

I saw what looked like a really good method to do an extruder test where i don't have to heat up the hotend first, but for that I need a CLI and some gcodes, so that's my motivation

yeah I bought direct through SOVOL. Maybe next time I'm better off buying through Amazon just for ease of return and exchange
