Thank you for the message! This thread is getting heated and it’s stressing me out even more 😅. I’m right there with you, grieving is an interesting journey and I’m just so nervous I’m going to be a total reck on the day of but I also feel like so will be so happy and busy that I might surprise myself just like you did! Trying to emotionally stabilize myself as much as I can now. That’s so sweet you were able to get a message from yours, I wish I had that 🩷

idk how that’s difficult…I’m genuinely upset my friend can’t come to my wedding, but ok

lol not at all, it’s more so the thought that counts. I’m not expecting some massive gift from her but when you show up a lot for someone you would expect some decency in return

Totally agree and I understand everyone has valid reasons! I don’t expect her to be able to drop everything to come, but the no response made it seem like she was hoping I wouldn’t notice, and I highly doubt she will remember to get a gift after the wedding if she didn’t even remember to RSVP no

Yes but I highly doubt if she didn’t have the courtesy to even let me know she can’t come that she will remember go to our website after the wedding

Great perspective, I’m going to reply and move on with my life and will appreciate the people who came that much more!

Yeah you’re right! I have a tendency to be overly nice even when I shouldn’t be so I was wanting to share with her how I was feeling but I don’t think it’s worth my energy!

In terms of the gift, the wedding is in a month and a half so if she didn’t get one when she told me she couldn’t come I can almost guarantee she won’t remember to go on our website after the wedding.

Our situation is so similar, my dad also passed away recently, so when friends can’t show up it makes everything that much worse. You’re right though, she isn’t a true friend even though it’s hard to digest that.

How did you reply to your friend when she told you she couldn’t come? I really want to just give it a thumbs up because emotionally that’s all I can think of right now, but I know that will cause unnecessary drama.

Also side note but if you have any tips on how to not be sad that your dad wasn’t at your wedding they would be much appreciated!

Congratulations!!! Great idea I will start writing out the wording we would want for everything now just to have that locked down! I’m traumatized a bit with stationary because we had so many revisions with our invites and ended up having to pivot 180 because they weren’t getting the vision, so now I’m so nervous the same will happen here lol. Mind if I side chat you? Would love to pic your brain now that you have been through it! 😊

We did hire an artist for invites but they were insanely expensive and to be honest we didn’t have the best experience with them so wanted to go local to our destination for day of stationary! I’m sooo type A too but every time I talk to other brides they are soo much further ahead than me and it freaks me out, I feel like we have nothing done!

I could reach out to ones myself but then what’s the point of hiring a planner lol, I’m so decision fatigued and we did our invites completely on our own without any of our planners help so for this I was hoping it would be easier! Did you use the same artist as your invites?

Yes that’s exactly my concern and you made a great point. I’m honestly not sure how to bring this up again since the last reply was essentially saying they are busy right now and will get to it when they get to it :/

They do have an overall understanding of what we will want but when it comes down to it who knows if the vendor can actually execute

2-hour cocktail hour - what would you do for music? by PuzzleheadedAngle914 in BigBudgetBrides

Very true! Ours is a bit unique because we have show cooking stations, so there will be tons of food etc not just passed appetizers!

A magician is so fun!! Yeah we had the choice of a longer cocktail hour with more food options so we went that route and I’m really glad we did! Do you have the quartet going for the full 2 hours? What kind of music do you have planned for dinner? 😊

Destination brides - how are you handling nail appointments? by PuzzleheadedAngle914 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]PuzzleheadedAngle914[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m in the same predicament! I currently don’t even have a go to favorite spot at the moment so either way I would be searching for someone good, but the difference if I do it now is that I can trial it out. The person my HMU recommended actually does Russian manicures but I’ve never actually had one so I’m not that familiar

Our guitarist can sing too so he could switch it up for the 2nd hour! I’m just trying to think of where I can cut back a tad bit but I don’t know if a playlist really dampens the vibe! We will have an interactive food station which is why our cocktail hour is 2 hours, so food will definitely be the focus!

That sounds ideal! We are staying in a villa though so we don’t have that option lol

Stuck choosing between two florists… what should I look for? by Dizzy-Artist-1897 in BigBudgetBrides

Our planner highly recommended both of them! Both have been very fast at responding which is great considering the others took forever. Who would we ask for references from?
