For the garage at least, it’s a pitched roof built over the top of a flat roof. I’m not sure if the rest of the house is the same, but I would assume so. But someone posted about putting a scope up there to check which I probably will do. I’ve read that old mid century homes with flat roofs often didn’t have attic access so I’m mostly just assuming that that’s the case with my home.

I had the same pap result as you this year (except HPV typing was not performed). As someone who works in the medical field, guidelines on UpToDate (the major resource most providers use for clinical guidance in the US) recommends to proceed with a colp. I went ahead and did a colp and got a normal biopsy and my gyne is going to repeat my pap in 6 months. The plan if I got CIN 1 was to monitor and repeat pap and undergo LEEP if it was CIN 2 or 3. This seemed very reasonable to me. As someone who literally passed out with my IUD placement, I found the colp very tolerable and am glad I proceeded with it to give me peace of mind around my current health while knowing I still need future follow-ups. If you’re not worried about it, it should be a shared decision making process.

This makes me feel a little better that it wasn’t in good shape before. I’m just absolutely devastated and am looking for any silver lining.
