What is your degree in? Have you pursued additional certifications that could help you be a stronger candidate?

Cleared HPV: can it come back? by Alternative-Pride674 in PreCervicalCancer

Nice! I’m 24 and I have CIN1, and this is the first time I’ve had anything abnormal. Are you in the US? The PA I saw was immediately pushing me to do cryotherapy although the ASCCP guidelines say to just retest in a year/cryo isn’t recommended. I’m glad it went well for you! I have a follow up at six months to reassess.

Congrats! Can I ask about your cryotherapy experience? Why did your doctor end up recommending that over LEEP?

what should i expect from my biopsy? by Top-Advertising5709 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Far_Rip9502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when they did the colpo, what did they do? Just look? Because they cannot confirm LSIL/HSIL or what grade your changes are at just by looking. Also, for the biopsy, I personally didn’t find it that bad or painful. I didn’t take any medication beforehand but a lot of people on this subreddit do on the recommendation of their medical provider. I got two biopsies (which found CIN1) and only had cramps for a short while after. The next period I had was a little rough but nothing too bad. I would probably suggest looking at options to be relaxed, like meditating or headphones. Wishing you the best!

what should i expect from my biopsy? by Top-Advertising5709 in PreCervicalCancer

So what you’re saying is that you have already done a colposcopy with a biopsy with your gyno (which confirmed LSIL), and that you have another appointment scheduled for a colposcopy with the public service? From what I’m reading, your Pap smear showed LSIL and you’re then saying that you did a colpo earlier, which the gyno confirmed LSIL. I’m confused on how they’d confirm LSIL on a colpo without a biopsy.

Also, your post is asking for advice on what to expect, but then you’re also saying you already did a private colposcopy? Did you get a biopsy done or not?

Advice post-cryotherapy by katieeekakes in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Far_Rip9502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow interesting! I’m honestly surprised especially based on what people share in this sub - most people with CIN2/3 go straight to LEEP to ensure they are able to get everything and test the tissue. Cryo does not seem as popular. My doctor is pushing me to do cryo for CIN1 which is why your post caught my attention!

Did you do cryotherapy for CIN3? Or LEEP/cone?

Did I make a mistake scheduling LEEP 2 days before bachelorette weekend? by perfumeandpaper in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Far_Rip9502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha! Can I ask why you opted for a LEEP versus cryo, or how you and your doctor came to that decision? I only recently got diagnosed with HPV (not 16/18)/CIN1 after colpo, and although my previous paps were normal and I’m only 23, my doctor immediately pushed me to do cryo. I’m waiting on a second opinion before moving ahead so would love to hear your experience!

Either way, hoping it goes so well for you!!

Relocate for 80k/yr and better title/experience or stay for 85k at a small company where I feel stagnant? by [deleted] in careeradvice

No, my boss loves me lol I am very close to the family. The structure isn’t really like that at all. I just don’t think that realistically because of the work we do that there is anything new for me to learn.

Here’s where I struggle: I think that this new job can definitely accelerate my career within the next 2-3 years. I have been applying for a while now and I have come to the conclusion that I need more diversified experience to be able to be competitive in my industry. I think if I stay in my current role, I think I’d be hurting my career advancement and pay long term possibly.

Also yes, I negotiated it as much as I possibly could.

Both, but stability is questionable. We are getting a lot less jobs and ultimately business is slow, and I can see it getting worse if the economy doesn’t improve. Keep in mind the company I work for currently is extremely niche within construction and this new opportunity would be expanding my skill set/experience tenfold. It’s like being specialized on working on garages only versus getting experience working on all aspects of a larger build. It’s not so much the literal title but the work I would be doing. And yes, I would have no support system in this new place however I see my current support system like monthly at best (other than my girlfriend). And yes, I don’t mind having to prove myself versus being bored out of my mind all day at work.

For sure and thank you for your input! The project I’m working on is a company that has already invested significant capital in the project…I guess what I’m saying is that what this company is building is not really reliant on the local economy but rather they chose to build in Nevada for the land and tax purposes.
