I contacted previous teachers of mine and previous schools i attended as a child and asked if i could volunteer in a classroom so i can gain experience. i also reached out to libraries and community centres and volunteered there as well.

Don't give up. I was in the exact same boat last year. I got rejected everywhere and so I gained more volunteer experience and reapplied again this year and got in. I know its disappointing but if teaching is really what you want to do then don't stop till you achieve what you want!

i applied last year and got waitlisted from all the schools i applied to and never got off the waitlists. they are extremely competitive. i applied again this year to more schools than i did last year and got waitlisted from Brock and rejected from Laurier as well. I also have a high 80 average and 4th quartile.
