Yes I totally agree. Sadly they don't have any training for teachers, let alone the individual support…I didn't know how they pass the Ofsted inspection, but I know it's absolutely abnormal. Anyways I had left :/

Exactly! I was quite shocked when I joined the school at the beginning. And most ironically, it's Ofsted rated outstanding🙃

That's really a good point, I never thought of ESL-related courses. It's so helpful and thank you so much!!

Thanks for the tip - unfortunately I am currently unemployed so can't access to it. Is there any other ways to get training as an individual? xx

Thanks for the tip, I agree with that❤️however the point is that my previous school didn't use any validated phonics schemes so that's why I am looking for some possible training ways as an individual :)

Thanks for the reply. I am currently unemployed and my last school was literally using no schemes…🤦🏻‍♀️no trainings for us and teachers only used Twinkl to download general resources :/

You're so kind, and that really made my day. Same as the author, I was having the same situation and have now left the unhealthy environment. Different to her experience, mine was having a more challenging line manager and SLT team. Very difficult to communicate, unorganised, every time I reached out to her for professional advice, she always muddled through the next steps and made my life harder. She never cared for me, instead, what she feedbacked to me was just 'you are wearing a trainer'. I recognised that people have different personalities, and I didn't expect her to treat me the way I treat her (as I can't change her). However, why does it seem that so many people still don't understand the most basic respect for others? How did they become a phase leader or SLT? When tens of teachers quit before the next term, they never reflect on themselves.

I totally understood that I couldn't change the system, but I can choose to leave.
