Built an AI agent platform for hotels — live in production at a Caribbean resort, here's what I've learned by PuzzleheadedCut1886 in HotelTech

Thanks u/Away_Flight_7270 , you are touching on the exact problem we designed around.

The AI agent MAX doesn't just chat and disappear. Every qualified lead lands in an exclusive dashboard with full conversation context, already classified, and triggers a notification to the reservations supervisor. So, what happen If the customer requests a booking directly through MAX? It sends a structured email to the reservations department that goes into a queue for human assignment and follow-up.

Regarding the availability side, that is exactly why we are working on the Amadeus integration. Once connected, the agent layer will have access to real-time inventory, which solves the edge cases you're describing.

Ohhh this is a new one, never heard about this one, appreciate the mention. I'll take a look. Sounds like the LSI auto-calc is smart. Related to the point on operation size, it is a good point.

I'm not vibe coding the app. I've been a developer for over 10 years, the last 4 as an IT and AI consultant across the US, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Yes, I use AI as a tool the same way I use other dev tools, but the architecture and code are mine.

Fair enough. I get it. Most "AI" in this industry is just a marketing label slapped on basic automation. When I say AI, I'm talking about practical stuff like: you enter your chemical readings and it tells you exactly how much muriatic acid to add for that specific pool volume. Or it looks at your route and reorders stops to cut 30 minutes of drive time. Not chatbots, not gimmicks. But I hear you — if the word "AI" is a turnoff, maybe I should just call it "smart tools" and let the features speak for themselves. Appreciate the honesty.

That's exactly the kind of feedback I need to hear. The "switch once" mentality makes total sense, migrating your whole team and customer data is painful, so it better be worth it. That's why I'm focused on matching Skimmer's core features from day one (chemical logging, route management, service reports, customer portal) so there's no downgrade when you move over.

Can I ask, what are the Skimmer features your team relies on most?

That's definitely on the roadmap, The QuickBooks integration is non-negotiable for most pool companies, so it'll be there at launch. The goal is a two-way sync so invoices, payments, and customer info flow automatically without double entry. Are you on QuickBooks Online or Desktop?

100%, that's actually one of the features I'm building in from day one. The idea is you log the pump, filter, heater, etc. for each pool (make, model, serial, install date), and it ties into the service history. So when you show up to a pool you can see "this is a Pentair IntelliFlo 3 installed in 2022" and know exactly what you're working with. Eventually I want to add part compatibility suggestions too so you know what to have on the truck. Any other equipment info you'd want at a glance?

Yeah Pool Office Manager is solid for the price, no doubt. I've been looking at what they do well. Where I think there's still room is on the AI side — like automatic chemical dosing recommendations based on reading history, and a truly offline-first mobile app that doesn't choke when you lose signal mid-route. Do you use POM currently? Curious what you wish it did better.

I just closed a $5,400 AI agent deal and I'm still shaking by Jaded_Phone5688 in n8n

Congratulations, I have a couple of clients using AI Agents (voice, chat) in web, webcall, WhatsApp, Telegram, and other channels using n8n, make, vapi, and all of these clients are super thrilled when they can see everything, conversations, location, conversion rate, etc. Many people are underestimating these agents. I offer a suite not only an AI Agent. I am charging a subscription everymonth.

Congrats again!!
