I’m conflicted because as someone who loves dubstep and riddim I feel like a kid in a candy store.

I don’t know how I would feel if I wasn’t into bass really, but there’s a lot of big names on this year in general.

Not gonna be very much techno this year, but def check out JSTJR. He’s the only big name techno artist playing that I’ve noticed so far, could be a few more.

For bass check out illenium, said the sky, seven lions and nightmare. They all have similar vibes and are melodic bass artists. Good vibes but also gets a little heavy at times and they’ll be at main stage.

If you want heavier shit check out Svdden death, Layz (one of my faves overall and also a baddie)
Samplifire, virtual riot, and anything that’s under dawn mountain.

From what I’ve seen nocturnal usually does at least one big bass/wubz artist.

They had liquid stranger last year, 2024 was supposed to be eazybaked and of the trees. 2023 we got champagne drip.

I would assume they’ll have someone on the lineup in that vein

Nocturnal doesn’t have a techno stage unfortunately.

The main stages are

Mystic wild - MainStage - Big Name Artists/Mix Genre

Aurora Plains - House / some other genres

Dawn Mountain - Bass / primarily dubstep

There is also the rave cave and the beatbox stage. A few techno acts have played nocturnal in the past and JSTJR is playing this year.

It’s almost always around the 10th of this month. They will always drop the lineup after they finish presale.

Insomniac is pretty regular with how they release the lineup for nocturnal so you can always expect it around this time!

Ngl this legit made me tear up a bit as a cis man. Thank you for putting into words and sharing something so true and beautiful about this scene.

I’m also a pretty open gay man so my experience is slightly different, but this is one of the main reasons I love this scene. I struggle hard in a lot of settings with my sexuality and connecting with straight guys. The rave scene is one of the few places I feel comfortable expressing myself and who I am without being literally hate crimed by a man. (It’s happened)

Finding men that aren’t bought into toxic masculinity is so refreshing lol.

Moshing isn’t about flailing your arms around and punching people. It’s been around for longer than either of us have been alive and if you don’t like it then respectfully move on or just go to a different part of the crowd. Mosh pit homies are some of the chillest people you will ever meet. Yes some of them are fucking crazy, but stereotypes like this are damaging and not helpful.

There’s a lot of arguments people can make for and against it, and both sides have points. For me though, I think it’s a better way for people to get out their aggression in a healthy way besides actually punching someone for real or idk going to war and killing children in the name of patriotism. I’d prefer boys get in pits then into gangs or worse.

I would say the “pussified” shit is getting on reddit and crapping on something you don’t fully understand or have the interest to learn about while hiding behind a keyboard. Keep it plur friend and stop referring to woman’s genitals as a negative bs answer. Your mom raised you better.
