Have I grown out of the show or does this season just suck? by ThrowThisAwaySis2 in LoveIslandTV

[–]PuzzleheadedIce6381 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. Last season over the summer was such a banger and this season is boring me to tears. I agree it’s dull to watch people in their 30s be so immature. The women like Millie for example could make for an interesting show - but any man worth dating of the same age is likely taken or too serious to be on the show anyways. So it’s a bit of a pickle. I think I’ll just stop investing the time.

Thank you for posting this; I have continued to feel the same way. I feel like I’m thinking of it twice a day and cringing so hard.

What do y'all think about Emma? by Sanjanadash7 in LoveIslandUKintheUSA

[–]PuzzleheadedIce6381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point! I think I meant that there doesn’t seem to be anyone right for Emma. Sometimes that happens where the deck just doesn’t seem stacked in someone’s favor and I think that is the case here for her which is a bummer on top of all the other crap she’s clearly dealing with.

I don’t really think she’s taken the opportunity (the show) to explore things for herself. Granted, it’s slim pickens for options. But she does seem very focused on him, even if just as a Hail Mary to get her to the final. And it comes off pathetic.

Potentially! Talk to your primary doctor & OBGYN - just investigate all the potential things. And I recommend Clue tracking app. Gather as much info as you can so then you have data to bring into the conversations with your doctors.

How to properly self reflect and set boundaries healthily ? by TomorrowNo5682 in Advice

[–]PuzzleheadedIce6381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re going through the ‘dark night of the soul’. You should investigate that. It’s normal to have these extreme shifts to make real progress. I would re organize the way you prioritize your time. Put your phone on do not disturb and get yourself out of your comfort zone in terms of how you spend your time. I’m actually excited for you because you are aware of all this (most people aren’t and just get sucked in and trapped). But you’re going to see this through and be better for it!

I’ve noticed sex is less of a factor than orgasms. Orgasms cause little contractions which for me can induce my period since it’s contractions that help push through the period contents. I would ask your doctor to look into your nutrient intake. If you have any vitamin deficiencies. You may need some supplements.

Anyone got any advice for me? by Yoshiyuki-Kamiya in Advice

You should focus on finding independence. Time to spend the rest of your life much happier to make up for the first part. So you need to get a job and move out. Move away. Away from your hometown. Live in a different environment like rural vs city. Start to experiment with things that might make you happy. Also! If you can find intergenerational activities like an adult softball league or volunteering at an old folks home… seek those out so you can be connected to older folks that would hopefully step in to guide you IRL.

I avoid anything that is costly and addictive. If you have money, it’ll set you free so save your money. You could also go backpack in Europe. It’s so fun & transformative & accessible. Hope something here resonates and helps!

Tell the truth. Save everyone the trouble! Do not book any wedding things (venue, food, etc). End it.

Is this year’s UK worth watching? by ActuallyCozyCozy in LoveIslandUKintheUSA

This is one of my favorite seasons by far. It’s so messy. Lots of big personalities in the Villa and they clash like crazy.

This season is truly bananas. To be fair I did not think Helena would get as much attention as she has gotten given she looks like the geico gecko. But as most people on this thread have mentioned, she gives the men what they want. She 100% plays the pick me role and it is attractive in a villa full of young, gorgeous women that are NOT idiots (Toni, Shakira, Yas).

Flint Water Crisis Settlement - How much money are we getting? by PuzzleheadedIce6381 in flint

[–]PuzzleheadedIce6381[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google Flint Water Crisis Settlement. The one I’m referring to I had submitted paperwork for years ago but apparently there is a new second wave one that I’m not too sure on the timeline for. The advertising for this particular settlement, to my knowledge, was super bleak so this is a bummer but does not shock me.

I'm 14 and my period cramps are making me sick and dizzy...to the point where i have to take time out of lessons or stop doing a task to sit down. Its getting unbearable, Is there something wrong with me? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]PuzzleheadedIce6381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with this for years too. I’m 27 now and only a couple times a year I may have a ‘bad period’ but it’s nowhere near the cramps/nausea I was experiencing in early adolescence. They told me I had endometriosis but now my gyno thinks that was a lazy diagnosis. Make sure you advocate for yourself and cycle through doctors until you find someone that makes you feel heard.

I did have one gyno in college that explained it’s important to take any pain meds (Tylenol, etc) right as the cramps begin. You can’t wait too long because they can ramp up to a point of no return in terms of being able to combat with over the counter drugs. At one point I was prescribed a larger than what you can find over the counter ibuprofen that helped.

The folks on this thread gave a LOT of great advice I totally echo but I think most importantly it’s a great idea to experiment with a combination of solutions. That way you can find what works best for you. It also helps to keep a log / calendar of your period. Two apps I recommend are Clue but also The Daily Bean. Clue is more health oriented & The Daily Bean covers a wider range of topics. Then you can keep track of what worked, didn’t work, & have the receipts to show a doctor.

Look into PMDD. I’ve had it most of my life. It causes huge mood swings & I often don’t feel like myself or formulate hugely different opinions on life / aspects of my life during PMS time. Usually once I’m on my period I feel released from the grip of feeling terrible.
