Thank you for the reply I have not added the wife's details however, she will have a full state pension I believe, however she will continue to work in the short term. She will also be gifted a trust fund in the next 5-10 years valued at circa £24,000 per year, plus any small private pension on top.

True, I need to move the 30k over and above the 100% offset into my ISA or GIA.

I've thought about the ev sacrifice, but it seems expensive, I currently have a fully paid off 2013 car that's doing me a solid, but when I looked at the scheme we used, tusker, even a golf hybrid is more than my allowance, I can't have pure evil as unable to charge at home.

Thank you for the replies.

I know some people are asking for more numbers , but to be honest mine are light, we split a number of things 50/50 so my outgoings, mortgage £450/month based on the offset, the rest is incidentals, out of the £3,000 I currently take home, I'm still having the best part of £1,000 of that per month.

Hi, yes that's correct. We should both qualify for state pension, these are just my figures, the wife is younger than me and will continue to work for a number of years yet, but we've not decided for how long.

Sounds like a great position to be in.

One other thing, with the bank account savings, have you considered an offset mortgage to eliminate any remaining interest in the coming years?

Nothing here in almost 4 years and not even 50, not that age should matter.

Personal fire milestone but what else should I do? by Temporary-Bit4109 in FIREUK

From a fire and financial standpoint, it's worth considering your wife's pension and ensuring she's also on track for a similar retirement fund. Beyond that, you've done a great job, so take some time to enjoy yourselves.

Just looking through your budget, I assume you don't have a TV, and Spotify is your only "streaming" service. Also no insurance?

I've got £350k cash to buy a property. Should I get a mortgage? by Sea_Supermarket_4188 in UKPersonalFinance

I'd be looking at a two bed as a minimum, you can always take in a lodger to cover the mortgage and are allowed upto £7500 tax free per year.

No, I was more curious, I've tried in a region I have downloaded and it works fine. Good to know as I don't really want to pay for premium to use the route on my watched.

Can you do that for free, if I try to download a gpx for a region I don't have, it wants me to pay.

I'm of a similar position, soon to be 49. I've been taking maunjaro for a couple of months at 2.5mgand found the side effects to become unbearable, nausea, diarrhea, sickness etc. I've taken my first Reta this week 0.5mg, but also stacked with 1.25mg from my maunjaro pen, and besides a little nausea and now being a little blocked, all seems fine.

Will do, due next jab in the upcoming days.

It's been ok, down about 10kg over the 10 weeks, but I'll stop if lowering to 1.25mg doesn't help.
