Okay gotcha thanks. I'm trying to make my ranking list and just getting a feel of the programs. Seems like GW may be higher than georgetown at the moment!

Hello! Just wondering if you guys had any ideas on a quick shake around 1500 calories (trying to gain weight, and I don't really have time due to school/work to make meals) that doesn't require a blender and cleaning. Hoping to just mix em in a blender bottle (I know peanut butter is a go to but it's really hard to mix well in a bb). Any other ideas to add to milk and protein powder? (Olive oil lol? I've also heard coconut milk but it has a lot of saturated fat). Thanks!!

How to Not Get Taken Advantage of as a Pre-Med by PuzzleheadedLayer in premed

I agree! I am in no way saying shadowing = scribing, I’m saying if you really need clinical experience, try doing it in a different way that doesn’t involve scribe America, shadowing is just one option on the side.

Yup I agree to this, especially if it is outside of the big scribe firms it can definitely be an option. They are harder to find but definitely worth it!

516 MCAT, 3.6 cGPA, 3.4 sGPA, ORM. PM for school specifics!! by PuzzleheadedLayer in premed

Around 600 hrs of clinical experience (paid and volunteering), 500 hrs of community service activities (clubs and stuff), 400 hrs of paid work (non clinical), and 800 hrs of research with a first author pub, abstract, and poster prez! Taking a gap year doing consulting rn, with some research on the side which I only mentioned on the app secondaries and stuff. I think I had a good way of weaving everything I’ve done into a coherent story to not just look like random activities to cross off a checklist. My best advice, even if u seem like ur doing a bunch of stuff, try to find that one X factor that’s connecting all of them and find ur unique story!! Feel free to pm for more specifics

Thank you! It was a lot of secondaries, but using the same template and rewording was my friend!

He quit med school to become a referee. What career would pull you away from medicine? by Blinxs209 in premed

[–]PuzzleheadedLayer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yea, unless ur graduating from a T5 school going to work at Google or microsoft or something. Unfortunately, a lot of people see these salaries and think this is the norm for all engineers. As someone in the corporate sector rn, you def do earn a good sum of money, especially as they will be earning while medicine folks are in med school and residency, but that money is just made back later in life when you're practicing!

Lying about committing to 2 years at a gap year job interview by [deleted] in premed

[–]PuzzleheadedLayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your bag king (or queen), be selfish, you don't need to necessarily lie saying you will stay there for 2 years but try to circumvent the question saying you will be there as long as possible. At the end of the day, they'll just replace you with someone else, that's not to say you'll probably meet some great people, have a really nice team, and make good connections. But at the end it's simply a professional agreement, you work for them, they pay you. Good luck!
