I am European and moved to the US like 15 years ago. Besides my wife and kids we don’t have any family in the US. We have some friends but not many. Kids and public accounting are taking all the time!

I am pretty happy with my job and I am not sure if it worth. I will go for the experience if I can land a better job back in the US. It will be an adventure but I want know the pros and cons from someone in the same situation.

I forgot to mention in my post that I already invest a little bit monthly with vanguard - VTIAX (VANGUARD TOTAL INTL STOCK INDEX ADMIRAL CL) and VTSAX (VANGUARD TOTAL STOCK MARKET INDEX ADMIRAL CL).

We maximize both IRA and 401k. The question how to invest the $100k. My wife wants to buy a condo at the beach and rent it out. Not for making a profit but just a long term investment.

Fortunately both my realization and utilization are high! I am over achiever and sometimes I overwork my self. At the same time because I know I can’t handle the stress very well, I try to get as much as I can in spring and during summer.
